SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) — A founding member of the Motown group the Miracles and a songwriting collaborator with Smokey Robinson has died. Bobby Rogers was 73.

Motown Museum board member Allen Rawls says Rogers died Sunday morning at his home. He didn't immediately have the cause of death.

Rogers lived in the Detroit suburb of Southfield and was ill for several years.

The Detroit-born Rogers joined cousin Claudette Rogers, Pete Moore and Ronnie White joined Robinson to form the Miracles in 1956. Their hits included "Shop Around," I Second That Emotion" and "The Tears of a Clown."

Rogers shared songwriting credits with Robinson on the Temptations' "The Way You Do the Things You Do," the Contours' "First I look at the Purse" and the Miracles' "Going to a Go-Go."

:rip: They really do come in threes: Bobby Rogers' passing is the third Motown passing in less than two weeks following those of former Temptations Damon Harris and Richard Street.

God rest him and bless Claudette and the entire Rogers family, as well as the other surviving Miracles.
