That would have never happened since the two shows aired on two different competing networks. Plus Screech was just dorky not really smart or that nerdy. I don't see what Screech and Steve would have had in common.

Jaleel White was on the original pilot of Saved by the Bell ( Then called Good Morning Miss Bliss) which aired on NBC once in 1987. It co-starred Brian Austin Green. I don't think it's ever been shown since.

Why such a nasty response ? We come here for fun, to visit, and to connect with other TV fans and "couch potatoes", not to be insulted . That doesn't sound like a stupid question to me . Are we supposed to memorize which shows belonged to CBS, NBC, or ABC ? I certainly don't carry that information around in my head . When I need to know it, I look it up . Why don't we have a rule that says "There's no such thing as a stupid question !" ?

I have to totally, 100% agree with you on that one. Indeed, on this board there is NO. SUCH THING as a "stupid question". This message board is about many different aspects and viewpoints about sitcoms and MOST of them can be considered to be trivial topics, questions and subjects by many. However, and this is my point, this place is an oasis for those who want to discuss the most trivial of comedy topics because only those who have something creative or informative to add should even respond to the post. I think we can all agree, we are here to look at others perspective on any particular topic and NOT to judge the question. I would suggest either making a sincere attempt to answer the question or IGNORE the post entirely.

Good Morning Miss Bliss aired on TBS with the SBTB episodes, they should have just thrown in the pilot with the rest of the bunch.

Well probably since he didn't stay on the show they probably didn't include it in the syndication package.

I saw that it aired in the summer of 87

Still should have thrown it in anyway

In 87 Jaleel White would have only been 10, kind of young to play a middle schooler.

Steve Urkel on "Saved By the Bell"? It could've worked- would have been an interesting crossover. But yeah- "Family Matters" was an ABC show and "Saved By the Bell" was a NBC show. I don't know if there have been many, if any, inter-network crossovers like that (outside of say, having the "Sesame Street" characters show up on "Scrubs")- but it would certainly be interesting. I would argue that Screech is not just dorky- he is also shown to be quite intelligent as well- after all, he was the class valedictorian in high school. And he was doing computer science in college- you have to do a lot of math and programming for that degree. And yeah- he would definitely be considered a bit nerdy too. A couple of times through the series, he is seen to be a huge fan of "Gilligan's Island".:) And he also likes bugs, just like Steve Urkel.
And Screech created his robot, Kevin- so both he and Steve have created some inventions.
But though this never happened, it is cool to note that Jaleel White did appear in the pilot for "Good Morning, Miss Bliss". His character was pretty funny. I've got the pilot and it is pretty nice- but definitely quite different in tone than "Saved By the Bell"- but of course, GMMB in general had a different direction and tone.
And hey- if you like the idea, why not try making a fanfiction crossover between "Saved By the Bell" and "Family Matters"? I'd read something like that.:)

They were both obsessive when it came to girls for example steve was always bugging laura and screech was always bugging lisa plus they both had few to no friends they were both in the same boat with being misfits, i can see them being atleast associates.

I would also quote what another post have said:

I haven't watched "Save by the bell" as much as others, but still, even I knew that Screech had a smart and nerdy side too.

Steve and Screech were both smart and nerdy they were not like the other kids who were more popular in high school, The Difference Between between screech and steve, jaleel white was the star of FM people from around the world wanted to be steve he was a popular character, the problem with dustin diamond was he was an unpopular and rejected character on SBTB people hated his character nobody wanted to be like screech.
