Omg, Janice, I am so sorry. That's terrible that Lou had a heart attack. I hope that he does ok tonight in the hospital. I can't imagine how scary that must be. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Lou. I said a prayer for Lou earlier and i will say another one. Know that I'm here if you need me. I hope Lou recovers quickly.

Lou's still in the hospital. He's having an angioplasty on Monday. That's where they put a tiny balloon-like catheter into the clogged arteries and clear it and leave a stent to keep the artery open. Lou had two angioplasties back in 96/97.

It's a fairly routine surgery, but anytime a person is under anesthesia and having things going on near the heart, I'm nervous. I want my husband home.

Actually, it wasn't a mild heart attack. The cardiologist told us that, while it wasn't a massive heart attack, it was a very serious situation. The artery they worked on today was 95% blocked. They have to perform another angioplasty tomorrow on another artery which is also 95% blocked. The doctor said if they don't fix those arteries, that he wasn't most definitely was looking at a massive attack.

His chest has had monitors all over it since he went in last Thursday. He's hooked up to the monitor screen next to his bed as well as at the nurse's desk. He's in a cardiac ICU at one of the best hospitals in the U.S., Mass General Hospital in Boston. This is a very serious condition. He's also a diabetic, which complicates matters.

I'm sorry to hear Lou's arteries were so clogged. I hope that the second surgery tomorrow goes well. It's good that he's at the best hospital. My mother who is a nurse says that hospital is renound for just about everything. He's certainly in the best place possible. My thoughts continue to be with you and Lou. :heart:

Great news, Janice! I bet you're glad to be playing nurse. You'll probably be playing chef, too as Lou probably has a restricted diet now. Try making low cholesterol meals.
