View Full Version : Molly Bish
UMFan95 02-27-2013, 07:16 AM I can't seem to find a thread about this on her so i am gonna start it.. So just for people to remember Molly Bish was a 15 or 16 year old girl that lived in Warren, Massachusetts, she abducted from a lake she worked at as a life guard in 2000. and she her remains were found 3 years later not far from the lake. The suspect was a Spanish or Puerto Rican man with a big mustache. He was seen the day before Molly had disappeared when her mother dropped her off at the lake for work and he was smoking a cigarette strangely. Her mother walked her down to the lake and when she came back the man was still there and she waited for him to go. The day later Molly was mostly likely abducted by this man. There has been a a few updates were a man named Robert Bruno was named a person of interest in 2007 and then in 2009 Rodney Stanger looked like the cigarette man, the both have not been charged and its unknown if they are responsible.
But one thing i don't get.. Molly had seemed to make it down to the lake because all her chair was there and her lunch etc, i don't think UM mentioned this but how was she abducted? the lake seemed like a public place and lots of people seemed to be there. Was she possibly abducted when she took a toilet break?
dynoguy88 02-27-2013, 08:34 AM We've had several threads about the Molly Bish case this past decade but this one is probably the biggest...

1990 UM fan 02-28-2013, 02:51 AM I'm still in shock that over 12 years later, that they have not arrested anyone in her murder. Her mother Magi created a foundation in Molly's name. She is a courageous and kind woman who deserves to see her daughter's killer put away forever.
Hasho 02-28-2013, 01:07 PM I think Rodney Stanger did it. I recently saw this segment on "disappeared".

kinghere1 04-14-2013, 09:26 PM There seems to be some movement on this case. Apparently some evidence is being sent to a lab in Dallas for additional testing. Seems like Rodney Stanger's name has popped up again. I always thought he did it. Hopefully this will give the family some closure.

Hasho 04-15-2013, 10:05 AM Thanks for the info. I hope it gets solved soon.
"The search of Stanger's dilapidated trailer came after Morrison’s sister, Bonney Kiernan, traveled to Florida in June 2012 and uncovered possible evidence in the Bish case from inside the home.
The items, which were seized by police, include a film showing a blond girl stripping then getting her neck snapped, according to local reports, and a photo of Stanger that bears a striking resemblance to sketches of a suspicious man seen hanging around the pond where Bish worked."
What the f...?
sjbach07 04-22-2013, 04:26 PM I am not sure if this fact has been posted on a previous thread but here is an article about how Chrystal Morrison's sister believed that Rodney Stanger was involved in Molly Bish's disappearance and death. Stanger killed Morrison shortly after she confessed to her sister that Rodney may have murdered Bish.

It is really time for something to happen on this case! Stanger really seems to be the top contender as suspect.
Steve W. 04-23-2013, 01:11 AM He has to be the killer of Molly Bish. Now it just needs to be proven.
Victoria81 07-13-2013, 12:47 PM She is on Dark Minds now...so much more info than UM. The fact that Molly wrote just days before, to parents whose daughter was abducted.
Plus, always wondered why her mother drove off, knowing some man was there just watching...

I believe the day of the disappearance she checked and made sure the man was not around as he had been the day before. There was a local company doing work in the area so she thought it would be ok. Apparently Molly was abducted in less than 8 minutes because that's when the other lifeguard showed up and there was no sign of her.
DALLASTEXAN!! 07-23-2013, 12:59 AM I think Rodney Stanger did it. I recently saw this segment on "disappeared".

Holy cow that looks like the sketch.
SheRaaa 07-28-2013, 07:31 PM I saw the VERY interesting Dark Minds episode on ID the other night. Essentially, the show put forth a theory that the disappearances of Janice Pockett and Lisa White were linked to the later murders of Holly Piirainen and Molly Bish.
At first glance it sounded like a stretch to me, but I have to admit it was pretty compelling. The girls all look alike, hailed from areas close to one another, and the "snatchings" (if indeed they are related) seemed to grow more brazen over time.

Necco 07-29-2013, 12:01 AM The guy linked to Holly's murder looks a lot like the composite as well. How many guys in MA could possibly have such a stupid mustache?!!?

TheCafeDisco 06-28-2014, 09:31 PM I just thought of this episode the other day. I feel so bad for the family. I remember really liking her mother in the segment. Hopefully this gets solved soon, it's one of the more sad cases.
mikewho 06-29-2014, 06:30 PM This guy has been mentioned also as a possible suspect.

14 years ago Molly Bish vanished, family still wants justice

(MyFoxBoston.com) -- It has been 14 years since Heather Bish lost her sister Molly at Comins Pond in Warren. Molly was working
Molly vanished from her job as a lifeguard on June 27, 2000. It was only her second day at work.
Three years later, her remains were found in Palmer, the next town over. The case has never been solved.
"I miss her. I miss her terribly," Molly's sister Heather said. "There's a big hole in our heart that's irreplaceable, and never gets smaller or goes away. We still suffer."
This weekend, the Bish family will publish full page ads in the New England's largest newspapers, a reminder that this case, which is one of the biggest ever mounted in state history, remains unsolved.
"We are only one piece away from finding this person and bringing this crime to justice," said.
While there has never been an arrest, there have been suspects. Rodney Stanger, a convicted killer who resembles the Bish suspect's sketches, is in prison in Florida, but remains a focal point of the Bish investigation.
Heather wrote a letter to Stanger asking him to share information about Molly.
"He had mentioned in his interview with the police down in Florida that people were after him in Massachusetts and things had happened to him up here. And I asked him to share that information, because perhaps that was tied to what might have happened to Molly," she said.
He never replied.
Heather wants justice for her sister, and to know what happened to her.
"I think it would give us peace. I don't know what happened to Molly. I don't know where this person is. Is he watching us? Is he going to come back for my daughter? Is he dangerous? Is he around? And could he do it again?" Heather wonders.
This is a frustrating case. For example, recently a bag of tattered clothes was found in the woods across the street from where Molly's remains were discovered in 2003. The items were turned over to investigators, but sources told FOX 25 that those clothes have no connection to the Molly Bish case.
The bish family will hold the annual vigil for Molly in Warren Sunday. The theme is Forget Me Not. The annual Ride for Molly will also be held this weekend, but it will be the final ride as the family will be focusing its efforts elsewhere in the years ahead.
And at the center of it all, has always been, Molly's parents, John and Magi. They are retiring and it is hoped that maybe soon, they will have justice for their daughter.
