I was a geography major in college so I really like this map.

We have Shenandoah's Pride milk here. I always knew it was a Virginia company, but I never realized it was a part of a national company. Kind of neat seeing the different milk brands distributed through the country in different regions. I have seen PET products like ice cream, but never milk here. Same with Land O Lakes, I have seen the creamers and cheese, but not milk.

What brand of milk do you have where you live?

A large local dairy products company around New England is Hoods. Great products.

I like almonds, and I like milk, but the thought of almond milk grosses me out for some reason. What does it taste like?

Borden. Their milk and cheese are good.

There is also Oak Farms milk and ice cream. I don't like the Oak Farms brand.

I like it alot better than dairy and I'm also lactose intolerant but even if I weren't there's no way I would ever consume dairy milk. Almond milk really tastes great and of course it's 100% dairy free. Only disadvantage is the cost at about $3.29 per-half gallon but it will usually last me about a week and I try to buy it when it's on sale and coupons are often available in the stores. Big advantage is that it lasts longer than dairy which normally expires within 2-3 weeks after it's been purchased. Almond milk lasts over 2 months but I've never kept any around for that long.

That is a long shelf life.
Have you ever tried Lactaid?

Never tried lactaid, I haven't had dairy milk since the mid 80's and I rarely eat anything made from dairy.

Hood recently made its way to NYC. I heard it was in Upstate NY for a while but it came to my local stores around Nov. 2012.

I usually get that and Tuscan Half-and-Half.
