Yup and they are wonderful, I have them all. He really played some beautiful music.

I play hand drums (bongos, congas, etc.) as a hobby, and one of my influences was watching Desi Arnaz perform "Babalu" as Ricky Ricardo on "I Love Lucy."

When I began taking percussion lessions some 30 years ago, I mentioned this to my drum teacher (who is no slouch at Latin percussion himself) and it was all he could do to keep a straight face. As I learned later when I found a serious study on the origins of Afro-Cuban music and the development of what is now the conga drum, Desi Arnaz was not at all the best conga player in the world! But, as is quoted in Bart Andrews' THE I LOVE LUCY BOOK, Desi may have had "meager talents," but he made up for it with his "effervescent personality" and good looks.

One could have done much worse, though!
