SPEND IT????????
Why the hell couldn't they just have saved the money and open up a bank account? That's what you are supposed to when you have extra money left over............save it especially when your financial situation is tight
The Evans had no money management skills:lol:

James did the same thing in the Black Jesus episode. He went to the IRS and ended up with $130 extra dollars. He bought Michael tennis shoes, Florida a jacket, and those red pajamas for JJ. Thelma got something too. How did James know what size Thelma wears? I guess in that instance James bought things his family needed.
What I don't get, is James was supposedly proud to not receive welfare and food stamps. But he had no problem gambling??? James threw away money gambling instead of saving it. How could James, who had to work 3-4 jobs at a time, think it was okay to gamble? And he betted on horses! I guess it is better to bet and lose than to save that money for a rainy day. James was not too proud to gamble.

James should have been smart enough to know that when not much money is coming in, you have to save whatever you can. Not spend:crazy:

James was a hard-worker, but sometimes his thinking was off. He wouldn't accept welfare and food stamps, but he had no problem taking Section 8 housing??? What's the difference? It is still the government giving a hand-out.
James would gamble with money that could have been saved.
James didn't want Florida to work.
James would rather take a chance and hustle a pool game than go to the welfare and get help with the rent.
