When did you first watch this fantastic sitcom?

During it's Valerie years, the year it was Valerie's Family, The Hogan Family years or the syndication years.

I remember seeing our beloved Hogans during the PAX period between December 1998 until March 1999. Before then, I saw them on ABC, UPN, and WGN. If any station would air our beloved Hogan Family, it would be WGN. Especally in my neighbrohood outside Chicago. ABC is too busy to air any good shows and PAX is obsessed with other things. The other station would be UPN. I am sure that UPN is still obsessed with all these whiny girl shows like Buffy! Cablewise, either TNN or TV Land. Since they are airing other NBC and ABC shows, I am sure TV Land would air the Hogans for a long time. TV Land has been airing great shows a lot longer.

Hey, instead of waisting our time losing our tempers about not seeing the Hogans on TV, think about this. How would you like to invite friends over to watch the Hogan Family on DVD and VHS? I know I would. And, here is how. One, stop telling stations to air it. Two, call Columbia House as much as you can and want. I am sure that soon enough we will get our wish. Their number is 1-800-457-0866 and tell them you want to see Sandy, and the Hogans like you did in the late 1980s. God bless Columbia House!

I started watching the Hogan's during the Valerie years (1986-87). I was a big Valerie Harper fan not to mention that I had a crush on her as well.

I watched it the moment it premiered as Valerie in March of 1986 on NBC. My favorite at the time was Mark, played by Jeremy Licht. He was the one I most identified with.

I had trouble keeping interest in the show once Valerie Hogan was killed off. It just seemed off to me, and the way her family reacted to her passing just made it more so. They seemed to be getting on with life a little too quickly and easily in my opinion. It was back to funny business as usual.

I remember an early episode of Valerie where the family had to put the dog Murray to sleep and how it affected them. I think the Hogans mourned the dog more than they did the mother.

Definitely off, wouldn't you say?

My mother and I used to watch The Hogan Family when it aired in reruns and then when PAX TV showed it we liked it even more. And Sandy Duncan was such a wonderful star as Valerie Harper's replacement and this sitcom I believe was the start of a whole exciting career for Sandy Duncan and this is probably the show that people will most associate Sandy Duncan with and it's a surprise that Sandy Duncan hasn't done any more sitcoms since then. And another thing I find surprising about The Hogan Family is that it's hard to believe that The Hogan Family was also the show that made Jason Bateman a household name as an actor to becoming huge on Arrested Development and now playing the voice of the character Nick Wilde in Disney's Zootopia. If The Hogan Family/Valerie ever gets released on DVD you can bet i'll buy it just to see Jason Bateman looking so awesome in the show

Valerie years. I remember watching it a few times when it first came on. Also Valerie's family, or was it Hogan family by than? I did see it when Sandy Duncan was on a couple times. Can't say it was one of my favorite shows. It was just OK, IMO!!

I wasn't watching much TV in the mid-80s when it premiered, so I didn't get to see any full episodes until I got a set from I-Offer a few years back. The quality of the last three seasons bordered on terrible, but at least I can say I've seen them all.

I think the show was equally good with Sandy Duncan and it's a shame it's not been telecast more or been released on DVD.
