Dan was afraid that guy would wake up soon after he punched him. He was afraid because the other guy was a in a lot better shape, he was younger, he was big and he wasn't afraid.

This is my 1st time seeing the early eps and never knew Dan was afraid of someone. From all the eps i was watching he seemed like he wouldn't hesitate to throw down if he had to.

So when he punched the guy I was so shocked he ran out

Oh yeah, and he only punched the guy because he called Roseanne his "fat wife" and Roseanne told him to hit him.

I was shocked because I remember it was a episode when He went to beat up one of Jackie's boyfriends.

He was kind of like a white "Uncle Phil" to me until I saw the ep today:lol:

That's right, he beat up Jackie's boyfriend Fisher because he was a woman beater. That's something that got Dan really mad. He was mad enough to kick the crap out of Fisher. But Dan was never really mad at the other Bully from his birthday party. That guy was just rude and annoying.

Why would that confuse you? Who would stand there and wait until the guy comes to? I took it as that Dan didn't want to get into a drag out fight, he just wanted to hit the guy to show the guy that Dan wasn't going to be pushed round.

He could have just walked out instead of running:lol:

Running made it funnier. Your confusion should be more about why did Dan take that drinking hat back?

No my confusion remains the same, if he socked the sh*t out of him then why did he felt the need to run before he woke up?

Kind of reminds me of the old Toby Keith song... I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Dan ran away because he didn't want to be there when the man woke up. It was a free for all.

But Dan always struck me as this tough guy so it was surprising to see him running

I think he did that just for the sake of Roseanne. Plus, when he punched the guy, I don't think he would wanna stick around for the cops.
