"The Good Wife" Exclusive: Gary Cole to Return as the Marlboro Man!

We bet Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) will be pleased with this news.

Gary Cole will reprise his role as ballistics expert, and Diane's love interest, Kurt McVeigh on "The Good Wife", TVGuide.com has learned.



Affectionately known as "The Marlboro Man," McVeigh returns to help the team out on a case with his ballistics knowledge in an episode set to air sometime later this season.

Cole has recurred on the series since Season 1 when he first caught Diane's eye despite their wildly different political views. Although she (sadly) decided to not to run off with him to Costa Rica in Season 2, he returned last year when Diane was juggling both Kurt and process server Jack Copeland (Bryan Brown).

No word on where her and Kurt's relationship now stands, but we're excited to find out.

Gary Cole is heading back to "The Good Wife" for a springtime story arc, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Cole last appeared on the acclaimed CBS drama in November 2013, shortly after his character, Kurt McVeigh, tied the knot with Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart.



How has that marriage withstood all the workplace drama Diane has weathered since? Find out when Cole puts in his first appearance in a March episode.

"The Good Wife" resumes Season 6 on Sunday, March 1.
