Here is a beach movie FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOUNG from June 1964.

So it came out a few months before GILLIGAN’S ISLAND first aired.

It features both Bob Denver and Tina Louise but no, they don’t really appear together.

Bob Denver plays Kelp, a beach buddy of the star James Darren.

He looks rather handsome with a better beard than Maynard G. Krebs.

He courts Nancy Sinatra.

Bob Denver even sings. That 60’s classic “Ho Daddy, Surf’s Up.”

He sings it buried in sand with a face painted on his chin,
so it looks looks like his beard is the top of a head.

In FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOUNG, Tina Louise plays Topaz McQueen.

She’s a bump and grind singer at a teen nightclub run by Paul Lynde and Woody Woodbury.

One question.

Tina Louise is one of the most statuesque beauties on the planet
and she’s in a beach film...
and that’s the best swimsuit they could find?

Even on GI she didn't wear a two piece much, maybe it was her choice to wear something that covered her more.

I love Bob Denver as much as the next person, but that upside down scary singing beard thing freaks me out. I must have been traumatized by an upside down face when I was a kid because I can't even look at the picture!

Odd creative choice in the movie.

Like it stars James Darren, teen idol crooner of "Gidget" and "Goodbye, Cruel World."

Also has Claudia Martin, Dean Martin's daughter.

Nancy Sinatra, Frank Sinatra's daughter,
who just two years later in 1966 charts up big hits with "Summer Wine" and "These Boots are Made for Walking."

And Tina Louise, with her own "Time for Tina" album of smooth torchy standards.

And what's the big music highlight?

Bob Denver buried in sand with a puppet on his hairy chin croaking out what sounds like a surf song like he's calling a square dance!

And they bring it back for an encore!
