View Full Version : I hate Skippy. With a passion
Tiffy540 02-08-2013, 12:52 PM I hate Skippy and I know the show would be better if he was not in it from the start.
The whole show gets ruined just from his character
 :o  :angryfire :cuss: :wallbang
Marvo301 02-08-2013, 02:46 PM I disagree. I think Skippy serves a purpose. Sometimes when things get particularly tense in the Keaton household Skippy can show up on the scene and break the tension with his goofiness. Also his ongoing infatuation with Mallory makes any story where Mallory is dating someone else that much more interesting.

Can you be a 'little' more specific about what you didn't like about him?
Family Ties Forever! 02-08-2013, 09:00 PM I liked Skippy. I thought he was funny. Skippy didn't ruin the show. He added to the show. :)
*ROGER* 02-08-2013, 09:37 PM Family Ties needed Skippy as the goofy neighbor. A lot of sitcoms do well with a goofball neighbor. Full House had Kimmie Gibbler. Family Matters had Steve Urkel. Mama's Family had Iola Boylan. The Jeffersons had Mr. Bentley, etc. All were great additions to the shows they were on.
Mr. Television 02-08-2013, 11:53 PM Skippy was a great character. He was someone that you can root for. He was a loyal friend . I think he played well off of Alex. I loved his scenes with Mallory too. I think the whole cast was perfect.

 I agree. I liked the Skippy character and rooted for him. He had a great friendship with Alex and he was nice to Mallory. He never got to have Mallory as his girlfriend, but he tried. :)
gidgetgrape 02-09-2013, 03:37 AM I remember Marc Price being very popular when he played Skippy. He wasn't as big as Michael J. Fox, but he did interviews and guest spots and hosted "Teen Win Lose 0r Draw." Skippy was a very '80s character. The loveable dufus that most people root for. I think he helped to make Alex seem more humane and less self-centered. I think Growing Pains' "Boner" was similar, but Skippy was better.

I found Nick to be so annoying and very stupid. We can all argee to disagree on who we like and dislike.
in my opinion Skippy added a lot to the show, whereas Nick ruined it.
Skywalker 02-12-2013, 07:34 PM Skippy was harmless. I could see why someone might find him annoying at times, but I don't know why anyone would hate him. He wasn't a regular character and never took over the show unlike Urkel from Family Matters which ended up ruining that show in the long run.

 I agree. Skippy wasn't in all the episodes. I liked the episodes that he was in. There are a few from Season 3 that I really enjoy. :)
The Flying Dutchmans 03-28-2013, 12:18 PM I have to agree with Tiffy. I never quite warmed up to Skippy. He always annoyed me too. I wasn't too fond of Nick either.
