Why in the world do we see some of the characters walk up several flights of stairs???? LOL
I'm surprised TBS has not edited that part out with them walking up the steps.
What floor do they live on?

Normally you would indeed have a very good point, except that in defense of the writers, the characters are ALWAYS engaged in conversation that moves the plot along as they trudge up what seems like endless flights of stairs. . .

They can't edit it out, it's a huge part of most episodes, to cut that out, you'd be left with like 10 minutes of show.
Seriously Solomon *shaking my head at you* :P

Really?
All of the episodes have chatting going on in the stairwell. It's like saying, "they should cut out the elevator scenes of any other sitcom."

I just never seen a sitcom where we are constantly watching someone walking up flight after flight
Why is the elevator not working?

There was an episode of the show that showed why the elevator broke.
The scene from that episode is posted here:

I love the walking up the stairs moments! Most especially when two people who don't want to be walking together have to climb those stairs side by side trying to either make awkward small talk or falling into a stony silence.
The stairway sequences are elemental to the show. That's why they have the characters living all the way up on the fourth floor.
