Movie Reviews: Bullet to the Head

Sylvester Stallone is probably used to pummeling reviews, but with Bullet to the Head, critics are trying to do to him what Apollo Creed failed to do to Rocky — finish him off.

Writes Scott Bowles in USA Today:

“This marks a new low for Sly. Gratuitously violent and brimming with slurs against Asians, this may be his first mean-spirited movie. It’s certainly his worst.”

Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times points out that:

“his is the kind of brainless action movie Sylvester Stallone would have starred in circa 1985. That it stars a Stallone who’s closer to 70 than 60 is just … weird.”

The kindest remarks about Stallone’s performance in the film are delivered by Manohla Dargis in the New York Times, who writes:

“To look at the cubistic arrangement that constitutes Mr. Stallone’s face and to witness his fairly restricted physical performance– he apparently fractured his neck a few years ago and now barely seems able to turn his head — is to gaze upon a god at twilight. He is at once unearthly and more poignantly human than he has been in years.”

F*ck them movie critics who diss this movie. These same lame critics will give a boring movie a good review. Sylvester is a action icon and he loves doing action movies and it's what he's good at. So he's not trying to please critics and i'm sure he doesn't care if this movie doesn't make a lot of money. I read a review about his movie in the newspaper yesterday and the critic gave it a bad review. I'm gonna see it tomorrow and i'm sure i'll like it. The previews i saw look good. Asian guy that's in this that's supposed to be his partner was in the last 2 Fast and the Furious movies. I wanna thank Sylvester for keeping action movies alive and i'm impressed that he's in good shape to be 66 years old. I also wanna thank him for coming up with the idea to do The Expendables movies. I loved the first one more than the second one and i'm glad he directed the first one.

No.

It probably won't be around in theaters for much longer since it's been doing so badly.
