Why the hell is the show not UNCUT? And we all know it has to be edited because Nick@Nite doesn't air uncut episodes. This is so odd

View Full Version : Can't believe the episodes on the DVD are the exact same ones that air on N@N TVFactFan 01-25-2013, 11:44 PM Why the hell is the show not UNCUT? But I think when George Lopez first aired on Nick at Nite was ABC broadcast version? But this changed as of 2011, when Nick at Nite has all episodes shortened theme in season 5 cast, and some or most ending tagged episodes which are short length are edited out. Mace Dolex 12-18-2014, 06:59 PM Why the hell is the show not UNCUT? And we all know it has to be edited because Nick@Nite doesn't air uncut episodes. This is so odd N@N used to air Three's Company edited so I though it was a given that all sitcoms aired on N@N were edited. And aren't all shows edited once they finish their network runs anyway? tenter 12-18-2014, 07:05 PM Yeah, usually that's how these shows were little edited after finishing network and goin to syndication. I think I was told the N@N versions are unedited tenter 12-28-2014, 12:05 AM Oh wait "not UNCUT". I'm so sorry for my mistake. I thought it was typo. Yeah George Lopez aired on Nick at Nite uncut, except as of now most episodes with end tag scenes that's not more than 1 minute are usually cut/replaced with regular Nick at Nite ending credits with promo for Nick/Nick at Nite. tlc38tlc38 12-28-2014, 10:06 AM The thing I hate most about the DVD releases is them changing the theme song. Usually WB does a great job with music rights, I guess "Low Rider" was way too expensive or impossible to get the rights to...oh well. tenter 01-07-2015, 04:58 PM I managed to watch George Lopez episodes online. Can't believe I didn't caught that. In episode of No Free Launch, the scene Carmen gives Benny a makeover and showing tattoo of Manny in Benny's upper arm. That scene was online, but didn't show those on Nick at Nite. I don't know whether ABC broadcasted this scene because I havent watched those long time ago. tenter 01-30-2015, 05:55 PM In the episode of Why You Crying (based on ABC broadcast) I watched online, there is missing segment from syndication: After George says he gives up on Max, there is brief scene: George is watching TV as Carmen and Angie came back from groceries. There is some brief discussion about what happened that George gives up on Max because Max will continue to fail and don't care about school. Thank you, I knew it was no way the N@N eps were the same as the ABC eps TVFactFan 01-30-2015, 08:40 PM In the episode of Why You Crying (based on ABC broadcast) I watched online, there is missing segment from syndication: After George says he gives up on Max, there is brief scene: George is watching TV as Carmen and Angie came back from groceries. When you say you watched online what do you mean? tenter 02-01-2015, 01:14 AM I lookup on watchseries.lt and search for George lopez for all episodes. When I click on each episode, gorillavid.in online is what I watched. Though have to be careful, it may contain virus. So I watched those on tablet instead of laptop. tenter 02-02-2015, 12:13 PM gorillaz George Lopez episodes were in ABC broadcast. George Lopez is on Amazon stream and iTunes, have you used those? I haven't. I wasn't sure whether it was episodes in full or syndicated. In the episode of Benny and Randy, syndicated version starts out Randy comes in the house with gifts, but in ABC version starts out with brief conversation between George and Angie and Benny, Angie talks about beauty makeup. I don't know whether I should list out more scenes that are cut out of syndication. Nick at Nite's edit weren't too bad, though it started out in fall 2007 (very first Nick at Nite syndication ever) next to Everybody Hates Chris, very first syndicated show in fall 2009. When Fresh Prince rejoined the lineup in last fall, Nick at Nite did horrible butchering edit of the show which runtime is about 17 min due to heavy commercials. I just hope those ABC versions are on the DVD tenter 02-03-2015, 12:32 PM I don't know whether I want to continue to add edited scenes, not shown in syndication. In episode of Weekend at Benny's, after George says "can't make them hit each other", syndicated version cuts to the theme, while ABC version continues scene with Carmen and Max opening mouth and George took a picture with "Carmen's supposedly new cellphone" as part of shock I think.. And at the end, after Max says "you eat crap too" with Angie gasps, syndicated cuts to closing production, but ABC continues scene for Carmen and Max taking food out and put it in counter briefly. In episode George vs George - when Jack and Mel physically fights in bar (syndicated then cuts to theme), ABC version includes during their fight, Benny talks to a person next to her about their fight in few seconds then theme comes up In episode Jason Tutors Max -- in Carmen's room after George talks to Carmen about Max needing Jason as tutor, he says "Are you in for pizza or not", syndicated then fades black cut to commercial, while ABC version continues the scene and George continues to talk, as Carmen slams the door in frustration tenter 02-08-2015, 11:37 PM Episode She Drives Me Crazy - (more importantly) the footage of Carmen driving in Benny's car is cut out syndication |
