Our 15-year-old dog passed away early this morning. He would have turned 16 in a few weeks on Valentine's Day. Ralph (pronounced Rafe like actor Ralph Fiennes) was a Jack Russell Terrier mix. He enjoyed digging holes, rolling around in the grass on his back, chasing squirrels and taking long walks. He also loved to eat anything and everything. He was a loyal friend and a cherished member of the family. He will be deeply missed.

I'm sorry to hear about Ralph, TJ. Having a pet that long and losing them is heartbreaking. I also had a dog pass away after having him for 15 years.
I hope that it gets easier over time. Your dog sounds like he was a nice pet and loved by those around him. RIP.

My condolences to you regarding your loss, losing a beloved pet is never easy. I have a pet cat who will be 15 this year. Right now his health is OK, but 15 is about the age when cats & dogs start having health problems, hopefully I'll have him for a few years more.

We had a dog named Ralph when I was a teen. He was a Brittany. He turned mean for some reason. He would lie in front of the door growling and wouldn't let anybody go in. I am sorry that you lost you friend TJ. It's always hard to lose a pet especially one whom you've had for so long! 16 is long life for a dog! Hope he didn't suffer too much.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your beloved Ralph. He was a sweet looking fella and sounds like he was a happy-go-lucky dog. Sixteen years, that's a long time. When my cat Foxy died at 16, one thought comforted me. It was that we had given him a wonderful life. I'll never do anything super important in my life, but I had given my all to seeing that he had lived a great life.
You did the same for Ralph. A warm place to rest his head, good food to eat and a place to chase those squirrels and dig those holes, you made that possible. I'd bet that he took the majority of those long walks with you. In return, he gave you unconditional love and many wonderful memories. So sorry, Todd. I know it's difficult.
