"Doctor Who" returns with Season 7 on BBC American on Saturday, March 30 at 8 p.m. ET.

The last new "Doctor Who" episode -- "The Snowmen" -- aired on Christmas Day and reintroduced viewers to the Doctor's new companion, Clara Oswin Oswalt, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman. The special brought in 1.4 million viewers on BBC America.

The new season will feature the return of the Cybermen, guest stars Warwick Davis and Diana Rigg and the time-traveling adventures viewers have come to love from "Doctor Who".

The show is very uneven this year. I think the long hiatus periods with Moffat doing 2 series are doing some harm. They increasingly rely on "magic" solutions, or things that make little sense like what happened with Amy. Plus the sonic screwdriver apparently can do anything. Last episode the Doctor located the Ice Warrior on a submarine by using the sonic. I also think the one 45 minute episode format leads to these easy quick solutions to everything. They can't waste one minute having the Doctor look for the "monster" so he just waves the sonic and viola.
