Aside from the window in the living room, was there any other differences in the two apartments? I may be in the minority but I really liked their house in the country the best. I wished they had moved about a season earlier.

I don't think you're in the minority; the house in the country was beautiful. But earlier on they couldn't have afforded it, so they had to settle or those apartments. As for differences between the two: the kitchen in the first apartment has a counter where Lucy and Ricky would have their meals -- breakfast and lunch, at least -- but the second apartment had a small round table and no counter. And there was a closet or pantry on the back left side of the original apartment kitchen, but not in the second apartment kitchen. The first apartment had a marble mantle over the fireplace; it appeared to be a wooden one in the second apartment. The first apartment had a brick wall on one side of the living room, while the living room in the second apartment appeared to be plaster and wood with moldings. That living room also appeared to be a wider, as did the second apartment master bedroom. The second apartment had a second bedroom, oddly connected to master bedroom instead of by a hallway. And the second apartment, after the Ricardos and Mertzes returned from Europe, had a window on the right side of the master bedroom. The second apartment master bedroom also had bookcases and drawers behind the beds, while the first apartment bedroom did not. Both apartments had bathrooms, but in my many visits over the years, I never saw a toilet. :)
By the way, I love nikneuk's floorplan. Here's a pretty good rendition of the second apartment set: http://stitchintime.typepad.com/.a/6a010535e9fcca970c0133f3376321970b-pi

I realize that this thread is several months old, but in which episode was this shown?

Wow, the studio area broken down into little sets is seen as strange. We see the show as a viewer and here as a director or an actor. Looks like a little doll house of areas.

I loved their first original apartment. It looked so cozy. House in Connecticut was beautiful too!

Wonder how Lucy and Ricky used the bathroom in the second apartment? If I'm looking at it right, Little Ricky's nursery used up the bathroom space!

I think the Bathroom in the second Apartment was right before you get to the bedroom in the hallway. is best i could guess from the episode of the Bonus Bucks

In one or two of the very early episodes in the original apartment, the desk was at the window and the piano was where the desk was!
An epp that comes to mind was when the Ricardos and Mertzes were having a sing along at the piano, and they were all so happy they were friends. The Mertzes left for the night and were trying to sleep , Lucy and Ricky kept playing the piano and singing and kept them up and started a big fight!
