I just got the season 6 DVD, and an idea came to me:
What if there was a Lucie Arnaz spinoff? She could have played Kim, or perhaps a new character.

There is actually an episode of Here's Lucy that is a backdoor pilot for a Lucy Arnaz spinoff series.

Judging by that episode, it would have been a terrible series. It looked like a bad ripoff of That Girl. Lucie Arnaz can be funny and engaging given the right material, but that script was terrible.

I agree. It was a terrible script. And with better material Lucy Arnaz could have been a succesful sitcom lead.

Has anyone ever seen The Lucie Arnaz Show from 1985? I've never seen it and was wondering if it was any good.

I saw it when it originally aired. It was disappointing and, frankly, quite boring. This is just a hunch, but I'm guessing she was trying to distance herself from anything that might draw comparisons to her mother. She was trying to be her own person and make a name for herself doing her own thing. So she wound up doing this show which had very little humor in it. She can be very funny and it seemed she was running away from the things that might have allowed her to truly shine. Judging from some of her best work on HL, I really think her forte would have been sketch comedy, along the lines of The Carol Burnett Show or SNL. She was really good at playing the type of broad characters that are at the heart of those kinds of shows. But instead, she limited her TV work to light comedy-drama and drama.
Here's a short clip from The Lucie Arnaz Show (which is about the funniest thing you would have seen on this series): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6FNd2F_FC4

 No surprise there. What she needs is a variety show where she can do skits as Sally the waitress, then sing. :)
I bet this won't put you to sleep, especially the finish: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHOtxWyYc7s
Fantastic voice!
