principehomura 01-20-2013, 06:47 AM This is by far the best house in every tv show I've seen.
Even if architecturally it's impossible.
bingbangbaby 01-20-2013, 02:23 PM While I admire this drawing and the work that went into it, if I can respectfully say, I think something is off on the left side. Martin's room wasn't next to Frasier's, it was across the hall, and he had a tiny balcony on the same side as the main balcony because remember when Niles flew his kite off the main balcony it went off to the left and hit the window and landed on the balcony space off of Martin's room. And I think that Frasier just had a big window and not a balcony because when Niles stayed there during his separation and when Ferguson woke him up in the morning it was only a big window back behind his bed that they opened and closed.
But I do think you might have the only way it can be drawn into a floorplan logically without having rooms and hallways out in open space.
Ant-Lox 01-20-2013, 08:13 PM I don't think an apartment like this is impossible. The new Frank Gehry building in NY has so many off the wall floorplans, it makes this one seem simple. But, The Washer and dryer are located towards the hall near Frasier/Martin's room. Remember the Cam Winston episode, when building maintenince told them they all had washer/dryer hookups, but Frasier used that space for hats. You left that space empty, so you can throw those in that space. Other than that, this seems perfect.
Schmoopie 01-21-2013, 02:48 AM Regardless... it's a really cool drawing! Too bad that apartment doesn't really exist!

Hello BingBangBaby.
Answering your questions:
.
"Martin's room wasn't next to Frasier's, it was across the hall..."
No. There is an episode in wich we see the corridor behind the fireplace and in this corridor the two doors of Martin and Frasier bedrooms are in the same wall as it appears in this floorplan.
In fact in this episode appears a third door in front of those doors suppusedly to a common private bathroom but I prefered to erase this door (and make one storage room in this place between the corridor and the fireplace) and add an ensuite bartroom to Martin's bedroom causa, a sa father of Fraser, he deserves one.
"and he had a tiny balcony on the same side as the main balcony because remember when Niles flew his kite off the main balcony it went off to the left and hit the window and landed on the balcony space off of Martin's room."
Yes but no.
I've draw a tiny balcony in Martin's room but the fact that balcony is "on the same side as the main balcony" is your suposition.
Why ??
A kite can fly not only in a right line.
If you see the eposode Niles don go parallel to te balcony cause Martin's room, obviously is not parallel to the main balcony.
Remembre, this is a sitcom and the apartment a set, not a real hous."
"And I think that Frasier just had a big window and not a balcony..."
Just as in my floorplan. Behind his bed is place a big window, not a balcony. But I,ve drawn this window with an embrasure or ledge. Compare with the design of other balconys and see the diference in the lines of the fences.

I answered this queston in other forums...
In other episodes Daphne appears with the other side of the apartment with a basket with dirty/clena clothes so I prefered to put the wash and dyer in an storage room behind the kitchen with the access through the same corridor as Daphne's bedroom is.
In fact, in many episodes Daphne goes to the basement of the building to the laundry.
Something absurd for a luxury home as Frasier's apartment...

I thought of this when I was watching the episode and thought that the kite had to have gone up over the 20th floor and down around to Martin's room on the other side of the building.
I like how Frasier's bed is not touching any wall.

.
Thank you very much for this capture.
.
And here are the two doors of the bedrooms at the laft side, the dresser in front of them with 2 wall light-sconces and a long gray carpet.
Just like in my drawing.
It can also be seen that door in the forefront that I don't include in the floorplan for the reasons mentioned before.

.
Actually, when I made this floorplan by order I draw Frasier's bedroom more exactly, detailed and with more elements.
Now I include a triangular bed-head (I don't know if in english this word exists) a closet for his radio tapes, a Wassily chair and a puff in front of her bed.

Gehry works on the facades, but I don't think the plans of his NY building are this messy. Speaking of course of the original distribution, not of Nikneuk's job, which is great.

Just one of those liberties that sitcoms take that make them illogical and not suitable for over-analysis, even though it sure is a lot of fun.
Either way it's a fantastic drawing nikneuk. :)
