It's too episodic, focusing on 21 minute contained stories rather than building characters and ongoing storylines. Although I enjoy it, I find it inferior to Reba's first show because there is nothing to entice viewers to become invested. They started out with a somewhat promising premise, similar though it may be to the other show. On Reba, we watched her character dealing with the end of her marriage, something that is not at all present on this show thus far. We saw the ups and downs of Van and Cheyenne's and Brock and Barbara Jean's marriages. On Malibu Country, it's as though the backstory has been thrown out in favor of simply presenting a typical sitcom with generic characters. What do you think?

When they announced Reba had a new show I was really excited but after watching it I decided it just wasn't for me. I think I had high expectations because of her previous show.
I personally feel there is a lack of really good sitcoms (at least that we like) and I wanted to like this one. I'm pretty desperate for something to watch on TV right now.
Reba had a great cast and they had a great chemistry together which is hard to get back sometimes.

What I would like to know is where Reba is supposed to be right now in her music career since it was her intention to resurrect it at the beginning of the show.
God bless you always!!! :) :) :)

P.S. If she can't have a singing contract just yet, to me, she should have a contract to write songs at least which is what I thought was getting ready to happen in episode 12 when she lets a younger singer stay with her.
