After watching quite a few episodes from the DVD's I'm wondering if these have been colourised from black and white prints. Compared to the "Gilligan's Island" DVD's these look very washed out.

....was filmed in black and white durings its first two seasons because CBS, the network it was originally scheduled on, wasn't telecasting ANY color programs during that period [and they were a production partner with Jack Chertok]. In the fall of 1965, they began scheduling about half of their prime-time schedule in color...and "MY FAVORITE MARTIAN" was one of their first series to be "converted" to color. Unfortunately, it was cancelled before a second color season could be produced. However, the negatives of those color episodes weren't properly stored over the years, and there are variations in color quality, depending on the episode.

Having transferred one color show from our master color negatives..they are in great shape, but we need to perform a new transfer from our negatives.
These set come from a 1984 1 inch transfer that was upconverted to master DigiBetas..so we had source that was pushed one step..hence we have color issues..

Which I will resolve very soon with a new HD transfer this year..
