Looking for someone who has been recording Ozzie & Harriet off RTV.

Or, someone willing to record episodes.

I am missing around 50 out of the 435 episodes and would like to add to my collection.

Thanks !!!

RTV, from my observation, has only been showing the well worn public domain episodes.

And Comcast where I live shows the local RTV channel either in a "windowbox" (black bars all around picture) or "pillarbox" (black bars on left & right sides) format. I have recorded about at least 20 episodes in the "windowbox" format, it looks really annoying sometimes.

Are these from the Seattle RTV station, by chance? A friend of mine has had issues with "formatting" on the station's end.

Seattle only airs one episode M-F, some other stations run two episodes daily. I was looking for someone who could grab the 2nd airing and the ones pre-empted by ballgames, etc.

Yes, its the Seattle station. When I watch the channel using the regular box from Comcast, I get the "pillarbox" picture. When I use the little black box on the second TV (the way I taped the episodes), I get the "windowbox" picture. When playing the finished DVDs of the "windowboxed" episodes, I tried the DVD player's "zoom" function, but the picture gets badly cropped.

Somedays the Seattle station's picture comes fullscreen on both cable boxes, but not very often. I think the reason why I get the weird picture is that at 6:30 P.M., M-F, they show a repeat of the channel 7 (in Seattle) evening news, which is always in widescreen format, so the station is actually widescreen, over the air using an antenna. So you would get, at least, the black bars on the left and right of the screen whether you use cable or antenna. If they didn't have the news repeat, I think the station would be in fullscreen, the way it should be for RTV.

OH Nuts!

I don't get RTV but I think it's amazing you've been able to obtain so many eps. It would be a wonderful thing if Sam Nelson is able to restore all 435. Keeping my fingers crossed he does and that you get some or all of those missing eps.

I have a wonderful idea for Sam and the Nelson family. Just for starters and to garner more interest in season sets, how about releasing . . .

"The Nelson Family Presents the Really, Really, Really Lost Episodes of The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet"

Beyond the worn out public domain and syndicated episodes. And, it is not too hard to find out which ones are also out there from film transfers. Give us something "new" :)

I will be dead before all 14 seasons are released and with the issues they are already experiencing, I fear it is a larger-than-life undertaking. I truly, truly hope I am wrong and I applaud Sam's efforts.

Another good idea for Sam would be to work on fixing up and releasing a couple non-consecutive seasons at a time. Start with Season 1 and say half-way through with Season 7. That would also garner support for latter season set releases for those, like me, who prefer Rick's singing years. I bet those years would really take off in sales. But, what do I know?

Comcast here has the black bars on Cozi Network, but dig this: on the regular cable box, it has the black sidebars, but on the DTA (a tiny adaptor) it does not!

To keep this on topic, Cozi showed many if not all the O&H Christmas episodes during the holidays. Every one of them were those lousy-quality public domain episodes.
