Did anyone else love this episode? I saw it for the first time yesterday and now it is my all time favorite episode. I thought it was so hilarious when she kept throwing her book out the window lol

View Full Version : Lucy Thinks Ricky Is Trying To Murder Her Kristina 02-08-2002, 06:52 PM Did anyone else love this episode? I saw it for the first time yesterday and now it is my all time favorite episode. I thought it was so hilarious when she kept throwing her book out the window lol  jamier42 02-08-2002, 07:12 PM I like that episode it is so funny. dawsongirl 02-08-2002, 11:03 PM I love it too! Very funny. Beruche 02-08-2002, 11:15 PM I like that episode too! Its probably in my top 20 favorite episode list. Barnabas1 02-15-2002, 08:59 PM I liked it. Ethel's face looked strange though!LOL Lucylover22 02-16-2002, 07:05 PM I recently saw it for the first time too Its not my favorite but its very good! I especially love Freds part:lol: LucyFan 12-26-2002, 09:35 PM I like this episode as well. *ShortCake* 12-26-2002, 11:27 PM This is one of my favorites too!! i watched it today on my dvd player lol :D SPLAIN 12-27-2002, 03:12 PM Sorry to be the Grinch here, but i don't like it at all, it's one of the early episodes where the characters are not well established yet. When she confronts Rick at the club, Ethel's fake yawn is too much! Even her hair was different from the Lucy we grew to love, it's by no means a BAD episode, it's just not one of my faves! Mickey 12-27-2002, 05:46 PM It was the first episode they ever filmed wasn't it? In which case it's understandable if they're not quite in character yet, cut them some slack! :) (I see where you're coming from of course. Later on there would never have been any suggestion of Fred coming upstairs to make sure that Ricky wasn't planning on murdering Lucy - they were supposed to be friends for goodness sakes!) In the DVD notes it says that Ethel accidentally yawned as an instinctive reaction to Lucy yawning as well - so it probably wasn't fake. They do say that yawning is catching! (I think that's funny, but then I like it when things go wrong!) I really like this episode, anyway. Yes it's illogical, and yes it's completely daft, but crucially it's also funny. And yes, Desi drinks the wrong drink, which for some reason seems to annoy lots of dedicated fans. To be honest I didn't even notice that until I saw it on the DVD! oldiesgirl 12-28-2002, 04:54 PM I like that episode, but it is not in my top 10 favorite episodes. Amanda924 12-28-2002, 08:29 PM I love this episode - so funny :D TV Favorites 12-28-2002, 10:30 PM It's pretty good, but not one of my favorites. The California episodes are my favorite. :) I'm glad they are starting soon! SPLAIN 12-30-2002, 03:23 PM Yeah, i never noticed the screw up with the drinks either until i kept reading about it! Leigh Ann 12-30-2002, 04:11 PM I have a mixed feeling about this ep-sometimes when I watch it, I like it, and sometimes I don't like it. It's not in my top ten fav eps. :) Ricardos4ever 12-30-2002, 07:52 PM This is probably one of my least favorite episodes, just because it is so out there. I guess a lot of things that Lucy did were "out there", but the whole idea of Lucy coming to the conclusion that Ricky was trying to kill her after over a decade of marriage...it just didn't make any sense to me. It did have its funny moments, though, as they all do. SPLAIN 01-02-2003, 02:37 PM Same here, God, what a great pic of them you have! Leigh Ann 01-02-2003, 03:23 PM Yeah, that is a good pic of Lucy and Ricky! Amanda924 01-02-2003, 03:44 PM That is such a beautiful picture, Ricardos4Ever! poptart 01-04-2003, 01:22 AM  I dont know why he puts up with her if she was mine I'd cut out her tongue!:notworthy peace: poptart 01-04-2003, 01:26 AM :notworthy :angryfire Ricardos4ever 01-04-2003, 03:06 PM Originally posted by Amanda924 That is such a beautiful picture, Ricardos4Ever! Oh, thank you very much. It was actually from the cover of a 1952 issue of "Quick" magazine. I loved it, so I just had to use it. SPLAIN 01-06-2003, 03:12 PM Well, it is one of the most beautiful pics i've ever seen of them together. Anybody got a toaster, i feel like roasting up some pop tarts~ Mickey 01-06-2003, 04:46 PM Just 'cause I feel like throwing a spanner in the mutual love thing, but I think Desi's head looks a funny shape in that picture. :) SPLAIN 01-07-2003, 01:57 PM Looks fine to me, but then again you are a Desi expert! I was surprised to see him looking so wrinkled in the ep where he sings There's a Brand new Baby at our House, maybe because he seldom got close ups, i was surprised a man of 36 could look so old up close! Mickey 01-08-2003, 08:51 AM That's odd, because I didn't think he looked especially old in the episode of Ironside he guested in nearly 20 years later! SPLAIN 01-08-2003, 11:55 AM Yeah, i know, he looked great in that, like i said, i think the Lucy ep was a bad close up! People were always surprised by his looks anyway as they often saw him without the hair dye which made him look so much older, he washed it out of his hair after every ep was filmed! Kristina 01-13-2003, 08:21 AM weee my topic! I watched my DVD's a few hours ago and watched this episode again, I still love it. I now declare this my favorite episode! :D LucyCompanyPhan 01-14-2003, 06:39 PM this is a good episodes. not one of the best but still a good episode and its a good first season episode too but your right, i always looked at this episode weird cos it was so different from the rest- but i love all the lucy eps Barnabas1 01-15-2003, 04:27 PM Ethel looked all bronzed up in this one! |
