I realize Roseanne episodes are edited for syndication, so, this isn't necessarily about that. However, a couple months ago, during the Halloween marathon they ran on Halloween night (or the day before...whenever it was), I noticed one of the episodes had an entire segment removed from it.

In the episode Skeleton in the Closet, an episode that revolves around an elaborate prank on Roseanne that hints at Fred being gay, when Roseanne finds out from the drag queen that he is gay, she quickly pulls Dan into the kitchen to tell him. At that point, she tries to convince him, but he believes she's pulling a prank on him. This leads Roseanne to finally showing Dan her prank, which is David dead, hanging in a meat locker. At that point Dan, stunned by the realism of the joke, tells Roseanne, "Wow...good prank, Roseanne."

It's one of the best parts of the episode. And I've seen it on TV Land in the past, so, it wasn't initially cut for syndication. Yet, last year, the whole scene has been removed. Instead, in the edited version, it cuts to a commercial right after the drag queen informs Roseanne that she can't believe Fred is tryin' to be straight. When the episode returns, it's at Jackie's house when Roseanne informs her about Fred and then, eventually, Roseanne is let in on the joke.

Did anyone else notice this? I wonder why TV Land decided to make a cut there when they hadn't in the past?

Just a bizarre thing I noticed while watching. I'm used to parts being cut out of episodes that air on TV Land, but this had always stayed in ... until this past Halloween. Hm...

I have notice that too, they must be making room for more damm commercials. In stressed to kill they cur right to the bathroom scene when Roseanne admits smoking to Dam and she is brushing her teeth. They are also cutting out some of the scene music too.

Also noticed in the Thanksgiving episode, Thanksgiving '91, they cut out a part toward the end. That's the episode where Roseanne finds out her dad has been having an affair. He calls at the end of the night and Bev pleads with her not to let on that she knows about the affair, so, she plays along and Nana Mary, as she's readying to leave, says, "that's a good girl..."

That part is completely cut out from it now, even though it had been in past episodes. Not a big, big deal ... but still kind of annoying.

They had initially been showing the syndicated versions, with them sped up to run under 21 minutes. They then started editing the already syndicated versions for CMT, and have carried those versions over to TVLand. So now the sped up versions have been dropped in order to have yet another minute of content removed for more commercial time. The Viacom stations have thoroughly disappointed me over the years.

I do know when I am watching Roseanne on Saturdays, once the commercials come on I swear they be on for 5 to 6 mins

So I believe segments are being removed lol
