Does Antenna TV count as a cable channel? I would get it if I didn't have cable...

Well in my case I can't get Antenna TV without cable because of my neighborhood so that's why it's on the list
mets82 01-08-2013, 10:44 PM Solomon, TV Land, really? I thought you hated TV Land.
I would go with:
Antenna TV
NFL Network
Hallmark Channel
And I'd probably go with TV Land as well.

I barely watch any right now, but based on the shows I like from the cable channels...
Antenna TV: All In The Family, Maude, Good Times, Diff'rent Strokes
TBS: Married...With Children, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Seinfeld, Friends, The Big Bang Theory
Nick at Nite. The only shows I like are Friends and Full House. Both air on other channels, but I like them on Nick at Nite.
Hallmark - I Love Lucy, Cheers, Frasier, The Golden Girls, The Brady Bunch
Runner up: CMT for airing two hours of Roseanne every weekday!

I forgot about TBS. I would have to think about what I would do about TBS and TV One and think which one offers more
mets82 01-09-2013, 12:42 PM Solomon, I thought you put TV Land down. I must be seeing things!! I also forgot about TBS. Should go there because of Seinfeld, Friends, Conan and Cougar Town.
LUNCH 01-09-2013, 02:22 PM Cable company or no cable company the channels I watch the most nowadays are Antenna TV,Me-TV,the Westerns channel and TCM.

Since Roseanne only comes on at 4am in the morning and Three's company only comes on Saturdays, then Nick@Nite would get the edge
Buffyboy323 01-10-2013, 02:58 AM Since Roseanne only comes on at 4am in the morning and Three's company only comes on Saturdays, then Nick@Nite would get the edge
The only shows I like on the entire network are I Love Lucy, The Cosby Show, and Roseanne. I can tolerate That '70s Show. Three's Company is on one night a week. These shows air on other channels, with better editing. There is no reason for me to keep TV Land.
Coffeecup 01-12-2013, 05:26 PM interesting question. I would want a balanced view. So I would keep a national news station , one current network, don't know which but one of them ( abc, nbc, cbs,) I would get my local news there also , and 2 retro stations. I think I could live comfortably with that few. We see too much clutter now.

Dr. Loveless 01-14-2013, 03:42 PM Four channels? Too many! So many channels I once enjoyed have long since turned into garbage, and I don't follow any sports teams, so I'd just keep two:
1. Turner Classic Movies
2. Encore Westerns Channel
15 years ago, I'd have serious trouble trying to decide what to ditch to whittle it down to just four channels.

So, what is LSN???
Ihavealife2uknow 01-14-2013, 04:38 PM TeenNick- Has quite a few old shows I like plus new episodes of Degrassi.
The Hub- Mainly for The Facts Of Life.
ABC Family- I watch a few of their new shows and they air reruns of some old favorites from time to time.
Hallmark- For other old classics.
Regulus 01-14-2013, 11:04 PM It's the Name I call my Mammoth Video Collection. :D

*Assuming these are over the air as a subchannel in your market:
MeTV, Movies, Heroes&Icons, Decades, StartTV, AntennaTV, Cozi, RetroTV, Justice Network, Circle, This TV, Court TV, Court TV Mystery, Grit TV, Laff, Bounce, getTV, LIGHTtv, Buzzr, Comet, Charge!, Heartland, dabl, Stadium, CMC, qubo, ION Plus, PBS Create (any others?)
I'd choose PBS Create, Cozi, Antenna, Decades and LightTV. Maybe MeTV, and GritTV if 7 were allowed.
tenter 07-06-2020, 12:45 PM See how my list changed in 7 years because George Lopez is no longer on N@N at a watchable time
George Lopez is still airing on Nick@Nite currently, weekdays 4AM-5:30AM slot and weekends 3AM hour average.
In fall 2012 if I recall did used to air at 1AM slot, and around 2015-2019 used to get more spam airing 3:30AM-7AM
I’d tell ‘em to go :censored: and I’d switch to satellite.

If I could choose from this list, I would pick Antenna TV, Me-TV, Buzzr, and Decades.
In my viewing area, my cable and digital carriers offer exactly ZERO!!! of these channels so I have to make a different list. These are the 5 channels I would want to keep:
1. TSN
2. Sportsnet
Canada's national sports channels. Both are better than ESPN because ESPN doesn't show hockey.
3. TCM (Turner Classic Movies)
4. Silver Screen Classics
Both show classic movies from the early silent days to the 1960s. SSC might be a little better even though it has more Canadian content.
5. CHCH TV
Canada's version of Antenna TV and Me TV combined, and I dare say it's better, and will only get a lot better in the fall once new retro classics start arriving.

TV One is turning into visual dookie. Not only do they play Good Times everyday but now they have added Bernie Mac Show:mad:
kaljackson73 09-19-2020, 08:15 PM I take it you’re not a fan of TBMC. LOL! There was a Bernie Mac marathon all night last night and I taped them all just for you. But you’re sorta right about Good Times. Good Times is overplayed to damn much. I only said TV ONE because of Living Single, In Living Color, Sanford and Son, Family Matters and the show you personally LOATH, The Bernie Mac Show.

I dont think its a channel for classic tv comedy. Tonight for example nothing on the schedule but dramas and science fiction
kaljackson73 09-19-2020, 11:02 PM Well, that’s because it’s not supposed to be a channel for classic tv comedy. It’s a mix a comedy, dramas, westerns, and sci fi. Although, I must admit they do overdo it with the westerns. A few dramas could be sacrificed too. But at least they got rid of that 3 hour “booty” fest of Gilligan’s Island on Sundays.

Yes. The scheduling is a hell of a lot better than it used to be. I don’t have it, but it is a nice channel. It’s just the trifling ass credit crunch that ruins the channel and one of many reasons why MeTV is better in my opinion. I’m still waiting for them to add Punky Brewster.
