Hey guys, I want to take you back 15 years ago:

Now, Family Matters and Step By Step were 2 of abc's most popular shows on Friday Nights and Ghostwriter was the most popular educational mystery-drama on Public Television and it still remains a cult favorite to this day

However, during the 97/98 Season, all 3 shows moved to CBS

Family Matters and Step By Step left abc's TGIF and moved to CBS as part of the CBS Friday Night Block Party

But ever since Family Matters and Step By Step moved to CBS, they both competed against their former home TGIF, but suddenly, the ratings didn't help and both shows were cancelled

Family Matters which lasted 9 years on Television became the 2nd longest running African-American Program on Primetime Television lasting longer than The Cosby Show, A Different World, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and even Living Single

However, The Jeffersons still holds the record for being the longest running African-American Sitcom in the history of Primetime Television lasting 11 seasons on CBS

Step By Step was also cancelled after 7 Seasons on Television as well

PBS cancelled Ghostwriter in 1995 b/c of the lack of funding went into reruns on most Public Television Stations from 1995-1999 before being picked up by Nickelodeon's NOGGIN and later The-N Network

When CBS picked up the show, it was renamed The New Ghostwriter Mysteries

The series featured 3 Canadian Born Actors who all had different backgrounds

However, the show didn't click with fans of the Old Ghostwriter claiming it didn't have too many moral messages and too much intensity on the storylines

The show was cancelled after only 1 season

In fact, all 3 shows got cancelled along with The Sports Illustrated for Kids Show, Wheel 2000 (The Spin-off of Wheel of Fortune), Beakmans World, The Weird Al Show Produced by Dick Clark and The Gregory Hines Show

and so, I ask you all this:

Did CBS kill Family Matters, Step By Step and Ghostwriter?

That's the Question!

Please debate on this and list your downfalls on here as well

and now, here are the openings to the CBS Versions:

It may...but these shows were WAY past their prime. Jaleel White was bored of playing Urkel all the time so he may wanted the Urkel character to go...that and someone was the the new Hariette.

I'm fairly certain I heard that the Family Matters set was destroyed before anyone was informed the show was canceled. Both that and Step By Step were supposed to have two seasons on CBS but they were cut off at the knees suddenly.

I'd say both shows would have benefited if they ended the season prior or had one additional season. Neither show ended on a particularly good note.
