View Full Version : NFL's desk-cleaning thread
MrCleveland 12-30-2012, 06:41 PM This is for the coaches in the NFL whose 1st thing to do tomorrow is...clean-out their desk. Obviously, Pat Shurmur of the "Browns" WILL be the 1st to go. And honestly...2012 was the WORST year to be a Cleveland Sports Fan, I think it's the lead in the Cleveland Water.
So expect a lot of Cleveland jokes this week! ohno:ohno:ohno:
Marvo301 12-30-2012, 08:36 PM I think Norv Turner in San Diego and Coach Reid in Philidelphia will be cleaning out their desks too!!
Mr. Television 12-30-2012, 08:42 PM Goodbye Andy. It was nice knowing you. :bye:
TVFactFan 12-31-2012, 12:39 AM I think it will be
The Panthers coach
The bears coach
The Chargers coach
The lions coach
Not sure about
The Browns coach
the eagles coach
gilligan fanatic 12-31-2012, 03:22 PM I really liked Ken Whisnenhunt, I was sad to see him go but it really wasn't a big suprise. I hope he lands a new job soon

Probably as a assistant coach but not as a headcoach

Yeah, he was a good OC when he was with the Steelers. I believe he had been a Special Teams and Tight Ends coach at one point too.

I remember people had them in the SB when they started 4-0 and then they lost 10 in a row??
No way in here is someone keeping their job after a collapse like that:lol:
MrCleveland 01-01-2013, 01:31 AM Well...Pat Shurmer already cleaned-out his desk today, no surprise...I wonder if Bill Cowher will get the position for coach?
catlover79 01-03-2013, 06:16 AM 7 coaches got the heave-ho this week, including Romeo Crennell, who got fired from the Chiefs (after getting canned from the Browns a few years back).

Does he even want to coach anymore? It seems like he isn't even being mentioned anymore. Last couple of years you always heard his name metioned but not really this year

Not sure why he was canned this year after just taking over last year
70s show watcher 01-04-2013, 12:40 AM Probably as a assistant coach but not as a headcoachhe has always seemed to me like a loudmouthed horses as;; who does not know half as much as he thinks he does
gilligan fanatic 01-04-2013, 04:06 PM Looks like Andy Reid is with the Chiefs now
TVFactFan 01-04-2013, 08:40 PM My man Andy
isiahthomas 01-05-2013, 01:43 PM Cleveland has probably had like 6-7 coaches the last 10 years hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Nobody stays a head coach in Cleveland long. That's bad that Romeo Crennell got fired after one year for Kansas City. They didn't give him a chance. Nobody turns a bad team around in one year. I thought Mike Shanahan might've gotten fired if the Redskins hadn't won 7 in a row because i remember when they were 3-6. I was surprised Detroit's coach didn't get fired.

Yeah, halfway through the year I too thought Shanahan was as good as gone especially the way the Redskins get rid of coaches. Big turnaround for sure
biffbronson 01-06-2013, 09:54 AM That's true that the Redskins pull the plug pretty fast. But they should realize by now that Shanahan will get the job done -- I'm not a Skins fan but they seem to be on a nice uptick right now.
In my opinion, the NFC is a little weak overall right now. Green Bay and SF may be among the best, but I predict that the next Super Bowl winner will come out of the AFC.

Once you get a franchise QB, you are set for the next 10 years and the skins will not be a losing team as long as RG3 is healthy.
