At this stage in the game, all of the pages of this site that I frequent are extremely slow. One of the reasons for this is surely that they are all old has-been shows that most people have moved beyond. On top of this, you have the fact that it is the holiday season, and activities with family and friends could be keeping people from even thinking about visiting boards like this. In any event, a quest to start some conversation has caused me to do yet another commemoration thread. I noticed that my last thread on this page has sixty-four views and zero replies. I would like to commemorate this reality by mentioning that, in 1964, "Gilligan's Island" made its debut. Is anyone here a fan of that series? I thought that, for its day, it was pretty cool. One piece of trivia that I learned about it was that Carol O'Conner was considered for the part of the Skipper. How do you guys think that he would have done in that role? I just thought that I would tie that in since, in much later years, he made several cameo appearances as Jamie's father in this series. By now!

I just looked up the "Gilligan's Island" page and found that you are absolutely right about how much action is going on around there! I find it amazing that, a page dedicated to a show that that only lasted three seasons and that has been off the air decades longer than "Mad About You" is getting post after post and that this page gets virtually no posts by anyone other than me! Any thoughts as to why this is?

My guess would be because since GI is an older show it has been reaired many more times and more people have seen it.

I have seen a couple episodes of Mad About You, but not many. It seems like every time it gets reran they always take it away or put it in the middle of the night where I can't see it. I bet if Mad About You was reran like Seinfeld is the board would be a lot more busy because more people could comment after seeing an episode.
