OK - it's time for our annual predictions thread!!

I predict:

This will be the last season for American Idol.

Alicia Keys will win the Grammy for "Girl on Fire".

Lindsay Lohan will spend time in jail and still continue to do stupid things.

With the addition of Terry Francona and Nick Swisher, the Indians will make some noise in 2013.

Phil Dawson will re-sign with the Browns.

I predict neither the democrats, nor the republicans, will do anything to keep us from going over the fiscal cliff.

I also predict Iran and North Korea will officially attempt to destroy this country. Granted, there have been predictions of this in the years before, but I feel this time, they really mean it.

Finally, I predict that the state I live in, California, will officially legalize gay marriage and marijuana.

Grand Central Terminal will celebrate it's centennial, and while Jamaica, Queens' LIRR station will turn 100 a month later, there won't be any hype over it.


Al-Qaida, the Taliban and other jihadists will continue to wage their holy war on the US and the rest of the non-Muslim world, while appeasers, pacifists, isolationists, and enemy sympathizers continue to perpetuate the lie that if we just stop meddling in their affairs we'd all be fine.


Big business from the US will continue to not invest in this country as much as they should. The same goes for big business in other economic superpowers (i.e.; the UK, France, Germany, etc.).


NIMBY-ism will continue to obstruct needed road projects as well as railroad projects.


Neither George H.W. Bush nor Nelson Mandela will live to see 2014.
