Seems like since Facebook became popular, during every single family holiday or gathering there is a lot of picture taking going on with tablets so they can be posted on facebook. Yesterday I was in the process of eating dinner and then my cousin wants me to pose for a picture with her daughter.

It's like I don't even want to go to family gatherings anymore because of this. And no there was none of this picture taking in the past during the 90's and even during the early 2000's. Just wondering is this going on in anyone else family?

at our family gathering everyone had their phones and cameras out (i have a mini video camera, but I didn't even think about bringing it this time) taking pics and videos, and people had posted stuff already to facebook by the time we had gotten home

robyn HATES having her picture taken, so she always flips the bird at the camera so her sisters and whatnot can't post it on fb (they are really religious and that would not go over well)

Well, at least they are asking you to take a photo instead of just snapping away. I went to a housewarming and the hostess (who served hot wings and fruit -lol) took our picture while we were talking to each other on the couch. Closed eyes + unadjusted clothes = a hot mess. She said "this is to prove you were here."

I never understood why my pics come out so bad when I;m with my family but when I take solo pics they come out better LMAO

Well, at least they are asking you to take a photo instead of just snapping away. You can always untag yourself or have your Timeline settings so that before anybody posts anything on your wall/timeline, such as a picture, it has to be approved by you first. That's how I have my settings set as. It's called Timeline Review I think.
I know that doesn't stop the picture from actually existing on facebook lol, but at least you won't be tagged!!

My family and I have always been big picture takers, so it's not unusual for us, but I've noticed that everyone else has caught on. Sometimes before our friends even get together and talk when we meet up, the first 10 minutes are taken up with photo sessions!! :lol: At least it's in the very beginning when everyone hopefully looks how they left the house looking like so that'll make for less "bad hair pictures"!! :lol:

Not really... But I take a ****load of pics whenever I go on trips as a result. :)

I am the infamous family picture taker! Facebook has nothing to do with it. The only change is that since I have upgraded to a digital camera I do take more pictures than ever. I love that you don't have to take the film in to be developed. Instant gratification!:happyface
