I love it. One of my favorite kinds of cake, along with oreo cake, and recess peanut butter cake.

I don't like red velvet cake. I like vanilla cake with butter cream frosting.

I've never had it, but it's on my bucket list of foods to eat.

I've tried it on numerous occasions, but I still hate it. My friends keep telling me its the best kind of cake and I completely disagree with them. Oh well!!

I've actually never tried it before. I've always been curious as to what it tastes like. What does it taste like? I have several dietary restrictions because of billions of food allergies, but I think red velvet cake would be safe for me. I just haven't gotten around to trying it.

I've always imagined it would taste like cherry filling or something. What does it taste like?!

I like it but I want extra cream cheese frosting on it, I usually by the cake mix instead of making it from scratch. I also like this red velvet cheese cake:

Kinda hard to describe, just like a regular cake, except it's red, but it's not cherry flavored, or raspberry or strawberry. No berry actually.

The cream cheese frosting is what makes it though, I also like extra with my cake!!

What gives it the red flavor; I'm guessing food coloring.

You're right Janice. :) It's food coloring that gives it the red color. It's not heavy on the chocolate. The part of the cake that is heavy/rich is the frosting. :) I think you would like it. :)

Well I'm all about the frosting!!! I'll have to try it sometime!! I've heard it's rich, but I guess people are referring to the frosting when they say that.

I first had Red Velvet Cake when my mom bought it for Christmas once and it tasted okay than my mom had a Red Velvet Cake for her birthday and it was a great cake. I don't know why Red Velvet Cake became a fad but it seems to be a huge popular cake that seems to never go out of style. But you know what kind of cake I wish they made? A cake made like the Boston Creme Pie because I happen to like Boston Creme Pie and a cake that tastes like Boston Creme Pie would taste delicious

I love it! I have it once in awhile. I prefer the ones made from scratch. There is a bakery here in town that makes the best.

I like it if it's prepared moist and has a good sour cream icing.

I used to love it, always requested Red Velvet for my birthday cake, now that I am older (and my sweet tooth has diminished) I am not much of a fan anymore.
