Hello everyone! I've been a huge fan of Perfect Strangers ever since I was a little kid watching the original broadcasts on ABC (I consider myself very lucky to have grown up during a time when TV was still so rich in programming, including cartoons/animated series). I've spent the past 13 years or so (beginning in my high school years!) constantly checking when this show would be picked up by a network for airing of reruns in Canada (I think the last time I'd found it was back in 2000 on the USA Network but that didn't do anything for me here in Canada) and I honestly thought I'd never see it again - I had to resort to purchasing DVD copies of someone else's old recordings to watch the series in its entirety (and splendor). Well, lo and behold, my searching has finally come to an end...for, a Canadian TV channel specializing in classic series has picked up the rights to rebroadcast PS again! The channel is Deja View and I've ordered this specialty channel (only comes to $3/month) just to see this show again.

So if anyone here is in Canada and misses this fantastic series, here's your chance to relive great old memories!

I admit I didn't watch this show in it's original run.
Shame on me.

I am too watching this on Deja View and enjoying it.
The show is not dated.

You all are so lucky. :(

Everytime they start running it in the US. It's taken off within a few months. This was my first favorite TV show. Still love it.

Well, the show didn't last very long on DejaView (taken off the schedule in spring of 2013) and only the first 4 seasons were ever shown! Must we always be disappointed with how this series is treated? You would think a successful and hugely popular comedy classic would get some due respect from the networks and distributors (I'm still puzzled as to why the complete series hasn't been released on disc).

I hate when great shows (Perfect Strangers, The Drew Carey Show, Benson, The Facts of Life, Empty Nest) do poorly in syndication. It makes it even more hopeless that we'll ever see a lot of these shows released on DVD.

I know in the past Murphy Brown has always done bad in reruns so I'm really hoping that Encore doesn't pull it before it goes through all 10 seasons. Right now, they're almost at the end of season 2.

I don't think Encore really cares about their ratings. I mean, they are a subscription channel. They can basically show what they want and get by with it.
