Reruns in local syndication and first-run episodes on CBS hardly constitutes "a million channels."

Other much higher quality shows don't even get to air on one or two stations or don't have convenient slots.

"Rules" has never had its chance, until now. The show has been on the air since 2007, and this is the first year I can watch it outside of the three months CBS decides to air it. If you don't like it, change the channel. We've got 1000s of them these days, haha!

I hate when shows start at the :30 mark. Why air one random show in the middle of the day? Ugh.

I do, however, LOVE that Rules of Engagement has joined the schedule. The only station I get it in syndication is the low-powered CW, which does not come in HD. This will be the first time (other than CBS) that I get to see Rules of Engagement in HD, so I am beyond excited for its arrival!!! :) One of the funniest comedies currently on the air that really never got the love and attention from CBS.

I'm not a fan of airing several episodes of a show then a couple hours later airing one more. Why not just air all 4 in a block?

The double episodes at the :30 mark are odd, as well. Just kind of a cluttery schedule. Not a big fan of it.

Hard to believe a show like MWC is relegated to just mornings in reruns. I will never understand that show and Viacom.

What about TBS's local station Peachtree? Would it have the same schedule or are there a few cases where they'll have different shows on it, because, to be honest, it doesn't look that great to me.

Hey, Yankees, I'm not sure if you have Netflix, but they have the first six seasons in HD. Looks pretty good on my 47" Sharp Aquos LCD via PS3. It might be a better way to go than TBS, since the episodes on Netflix are (presumably) uncut.

I was never a fan of Netflix. I don't watch many movies, so a subscription never made sense for me. Thanks for letting me know though!!

I'm surprised that many of you are forgetting that Saved by the Bell was on TBS. It's only been off the schedule for about a year and aired every weekday morning from around 1999 to 2011 (and aired afternoons 1992-1999). It probably only last aired on WGN around late 90s or early 2000s. In fact, WGN aired California Dreams more recently than it did SBTB (2003).

But to get to the point, TBS' schedule, while it has a bunch of solid sitcoms, just seems very disorganized and cluttered as some have mentioned.

I don't understand why Home Improvement needs to be taken off to make room for Rules of Engagement. This is what I think TBS could easily do to make their schedule still remain virtually the same but just less cluttered and disorganized.

DSfan,

I think that is a solid schedule, except for the Everybody Loves Raymond / Rules of Engagement / Everybody Loves Raymond block. If anything, the later Everybody Loves Raymond block should be different. Other than the small change, I wish THAT was the TBS schedule.

I like that schedule, DSfan. Like yankees said, I'd alter the Raymond episodes - I'd put Rules at 1PM then ELR 2-4PM. If Rules did well at 1pm I'd move it up to the 3PM hour maybe.

Poor Home Improvement - it's pretty much ignored by TBS, TV Land has it buried at a ridiculous time, Nick at Nite won't show it anymore - does it just not do well in syndication? It sure had a nice run originally. Quite honestly, I think it'd be a good fit on a channel like Hallmark or GMC. It seems a little too family oriented for a channel like TBS these days.

I only did it like that to try and keep it somewhat realistic based on TBS wanting to air Rules at 2PM and have Raymond as a lead-in and lead-out. Otherwise, I definitely agree with you and I would put 4 of Raymond back to back for 2hrs.

As DSfan pointed out, Saved by the Bell was on TBS every weekday for almost 20 years (1992 to 2011). If you saw it recently, it was probably on MTV2. Saved By The Bell and Boy Meets World have been on that channel for a year.

I just hate programming hours starting at :30 (e.g., King of Queens). I don't understand why they can't give Raymond an additional episode (two is more than enough for me when it comes to any show in syndication) and remove either an episode of Seinfeld or Fresh Prince. Something tells me Raymond will find itself back at 2pm soon, but only time will tell. The scheduling of Cougar Town is smart though given the Courteney Cox lead in.

Your comment isn't accurate because the schedule never was and still isn't changing the amount of times a day they air The Office. Some place imaginary, you're seeing a version of the schedule where the amount of Office airings is less than what it is in reality!

I'm just shocked to see Wipeout on the schedule, no? Also shocked to see Raymond reduced to a single episode a day! Do you think it'll stay that way, Pavan? Have ratings sunk to new lows? And I'm guessing Are We There Yet was virtually watched by no one. A show can get a 0 demo, yes? I'm betting that's what occurred there.

Incredibly happy to see Cougar Town reruns, and wise of TBS not to double up given the low episode count. Do you see this as a sign of confidence, Pavan?

The one show I've always wanted to see on TBS (and especially now with a fellow Bill Lawrence show on the schedule in CT) is Scrubs. It's been shifted to weekday mornings on Comedy Central. Given how popular the show remains on DVD and online, I wish it was more high-profile in syndication.

Look I saw more than once this past week that the Office aired only ONCE which was at 12:30am.

I also foresee a schedule in the near future with Family Guy and Big Bang nightly staples given the February schedule. Given how great they do for the network, it might be in their favor to reduce the number of episodes they'd air on a given night, and instead, stretch them out Mon-Fri (as seen below). Also don't understand why season 5 of TBBT has rarely been shown in syndication yet, on locals or on TBS. TBS just started airing some S5 episodes, but on special nights (Sat-Mon), not on the regular Tues-Thurs schedule the show has had. WNYW has only played season 5 once if i'm correct, sometime in November.

For example:
8:00pm - Family Guy
8:30pm - Family Guy
9:00pm - Family Guy
9:30pm - The Big Bang Theory
10:00pm - The Big Bang Theory / TBS Originals
10:30pm - The Big Bang Theory / TBS Originals

On nights when TBS has their original sitcoms and reality shows, they can easily just bump the 9pm showing of FG for an additional TBBT if it provides a better lead in.

Wipeout is doing good numbers on TruTV. Plus it is a comedy obstacle show that could give some life to TBS early afternoons. Raymond has been on the network for awhile and they have pushed it back earlier and earlier, so not surprising.

Thanks for clearing up what I missed. Didn't have schedules past the 31st when I typed up the schedule on the last thread page, so didn't have Friday's schedule. Good schedule other than the lack of Raymond and the existence of Wipeout.

It's on VH1 Classic. Watch it there. MWC is doing solid at 6am on TBS. On most days it beats the 7am-1pm shows in 18-49. American Dad and Wipeout did solid for the first week, beating 6am-1pm shows.

Very happy to see 'Cougar Town' is doing relatively well for them! Shocked it's doing better than Raymond, Office, and Fresh Prince especially, but very happy about it. The Tuesday ratings are quite stable as well. They've grown in viewers week to week in episodes 2-4 and is averaging a 0.9. Not too shabby.

Ughhh. Why does no one promote this show? It's a very solid option both in repeats and new episodes - when promoted.

Agreed. The only way I possibly see Rules of Engagement coming back is if it stays above a 3.0 all season (doubtful) and CBS decides to cancel Two and a Half Men (also doubtful, per comments from Nina Tassler).

From what the cast has said, at least one storyline wraps up in the series finale: Jen and Adam tie the knot. Not sure how they've dealt with Sara Rue's absence though. Maybe a time jump? Or Jeff and Audrey get a call at the wedding that she's in labor?

The show's timeline has always been confusing, and it'll probably be more so now. In season 6, Jen mentions that she and Adam had been together 4 years, and if they had already been going out 6-7 months in the Pilot, that means the series has taken place a little over three years in six seasons.

Home Improvement did not deserve to be removed from the Weekday schedule on TBS. Wipeout being put on TBS is escalating the problem big time so please replace "Wipeout" with "Home Improvement" on the Weekday schedule on TBS for April.

yankeesrj12

TBS has removed the 1130 episode of Rules of Engagement in favor of a full hour of According to Jim (1130 to 1230).

EmoJoe

Rules of Engagement is the new Yes, Dear. It survived for a long time because it was slotted in between high-rated shows, but no one really cares about it. Not surprised to see it struggling in syndication.

Reality shows should not invade the sitcom line-up on TBS for ex: Wipeout in the 2PM-3PM hour.

tooltime1987
03-09-2013, 03:50 PM
Home Improvement airing Weekdays (Mon-Fri) on TBS Superstation gets better ratings even if it's airing for ex: 1PM-2PM Weekdays as well as 7AM-8AM Saturdays.

tooltime1987
03-17-2013, 03:22 PM
I hope they can at least remove two episodes of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and put "Home Improvement" back on the Weekday schedule because it deserves a lot of respect on the Weekday schedule.

tooltime1987
03-17-2013, 03:29 PM
I would like to put TBS Superstation in the right direction with the following:

1. Put Home Improvement back on the Weekday schedule by removing two episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

2. According to Jim to get a full hour block.

3. Everybody Loves Raymond to get a full hour block.

tooltime1987
03-17-2013, 03:32 PM
I hope Rules of Engagement gets a new timeslot for May or June for ex: 3PM-4PM.

Hey, Paven

I made a TBS Superstation schedule for May 2013 with minor changes that includes Home Improvement on the Weekday schedule, full hours of According to Jim and Everybody Loves Raymond, and the removal of the second full hour of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I hope TBS or Turnes Broadcasting will make this change for May 2013.

Thanks,
