THE FACTS OF LIFE- In one season 8 episode where the first season girls come back, they acted like they never met Jo. In fact, they met in earlier seasons. Cindy's last name changed from Webster to Baker.

BOY MEETS WORLD- They didnt follow the grade levels by season. In the first season, they were in 6th grade. The second season they were in 7th, but by the third they were in the 9th or 10th grade. There were also different ways Cory met Topanga. In the first season, Topanga had a sister (as did Shawn), but after this season they were never mentioned again.

MELROSE PLACE- Kimberly Shaw found out in the 3rd season that she couldnt have babies due to the car accident. But in a 4th season episode, Michael had a message to give her from her doctor about being on the pill. In a 1st season episode, Jane is sharing a home video with her friends (her being born and showing her mom), but then there was that whole story line from the 5th season where she discovers she was adopted. I also think there was a continuity error with a little storyline about Peter's father. They had him dead in the 4th season but in the 7th season, they still had him alive.

ROSEANNE- In the beginning, Dan's mom was a normal woman. But later in the show, they portraid her to be a wack job in a mental institution for 20 years.

Forgot one:

MAMA'S FAMILY- In the beginning when Buzz, Sonya and Vint move in, Sonya wanted her own bedroom so she moved into Aunt Fran's "precious studio". After the show went into syndication, they never mentioned the 3rd bedroom. In fact, I remember one episode in syndication where Naomi and Vint wanted to live upstairs in the bedroom and they had to switch with Bubba's room. I thought to myself, why cant they just have Frans old studio bedroom (Sonya's old room).

Check out the Mama's Family forum. There's a thread discussing this. I came up with an explanation to all the confusion with the bedrooms!

The Golden Girls, Blanche's children! She once stated she had 3 sons named Biff, Doug, and Skippy. Yet all we ever meet are her two daughters, Janet and Becky. Also when we first meet Becky, she's pretty heavy-set. Later on when Becky visits, she has a very thin figure (different actress).
Blanche also once mentioned another son, Matthew, who shows up on The Golden Palace. (Atleast that one was consistant).

Designing Women- Charlene always mention Marlene, Darlene and Harlene as her sisters but never mentioned Carlene.

My Three Sons -- There's an episode that mentions Uncle Charley once had a wife. However, we later find that it's been established he's a lifelong bachelor.

The Andy Griffith Show -- Barney's name is given as both Bernard Milton Fife and Bernard P. Fife. There are also inconsistencies regarding Floyd Lawson.

Mr. Belvedere - Tracy's best friend Angela whom was spoken of but never seen until the end of the short 1st season had correctly pronounced Mr. Belvedere's name upon introduction but yet in many later episodes thereafter she frequently misprounces his name. (i.e., Mr. Beer Belly, Mr. Boomerang)

Not sure if this counts or not, but during its 6 year run, there were at least two episodes from season 5 that were filmed during season 4 (you could tell, because among other things, the kitchen looked the way it used to).

One of them was Black Widow. There's a scene in that episode where Tracy reminds Wesley he's in Junior High. Wait, but wasn't Wesley still in Elementary School? And I'm pretty sure Brice Beckham graduated from Elementary School in real life in 1988 as well.

The Odd Couple: In one episode Felix and Oscar recall how they met on jury duty -- but in another episode they tell the story of meeting in the Army.

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW-in an early episode the Petries have a pool table in their basement, but it's never seen or even mentioned after that.
in a flashback episode showing when they bought their house, theres a giant rock in the basement. But again it's never mentioned again after that.

MASH-in an early episode Hawkeye says he's from Virginia and he has a mother, father and sister. In later episodes he's from Maine and he just has a father.

My Three Sons: In later years, Steve once in a long while refers to Rob as his "oldest" son, ignoring the fact that Mike is his first-born (and had moved away).

They did that with Rose too and Dorothy to some extent. Rose mentioned quite a few children but we only saw Kirsten and another daughter that ended up sleeping with Dorothy's son Michael. When Rose had her heart attack in the school reunion episode, they just brought back Kirsten and played by a completely different actress with red hair, not the older blonde that actually resembled Betty White.

And for Dorothy's kids, it was interesting that while the same actor played Michael for all his appearances, her daughter Kate was played by two different actresses when she was on.

I've got a good one! On all of Lucille Ball's shows, I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy, whenever Lucy joined in a casual sing-a-long with others, she sang loud and off key, yet when ever any of these shows put on a musical show, Lucy could sing just fine.

Saved by the Bell: Characters Zack, Lisa and Screech along with Mr. Belding were living in Indianapolis, IN one year then the next, they are living in outer LA (Palisades, CA). I know the show was renamed "Saved by the bell" from "Good Morning Miss Bliss" but those are inconsistencies. Zack's father was a recent divorcee name "Peter" on GMMB. On "SBTB, he was a happily married man named "Derek" also played by another actor. Zack and Screech originally had sisters and now then they were referenced to as only children.

I've noticed that on Alice, during the first season Mel's is shown across from a Bank season 2 the diner is across from a parking lot looks like by a gas station.

I've been watching "Diff'rent Strokes" Season Four on DVD and I noticed this:

Arnold's goldfish Abraham is revealed to be a female in the 'Green Hair' episode. The fish is still referred to as "he" and "his" in episodes after this revelation.

THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW-in one episode (THE NIGHT THE ROOF CAVED IN) the Petries have a fish tank in their living room, but it's never shown in any other episode.
Probably the most jarring one is in all the flashback episodes showing Rob & Laura before they were married and there is NO FREAKIN' WAY they're the ages they say they were.

I could go on and on about other mistakes in this series but there's too many.

MASH-in a first season episode Hawkeye says he's from Vermont; and that he has a father, mother & sister. But later he says he has no sister and his mother died when he was little and he's from Maine.
In one show Col. Potter says he's from Nebraska, but later he says he's from Missouri.
