Ten years before Gilligan, Alan Hale was a henchman for gangster George Raft putting the squeeze on dirty cop Robert Taylor.

Another heavy in the cast was Vince Edwards, who became Ben Casey.
And Anne Francis, who became Honey West.

He gets the crap kicked out of him. I have this film and I was amazed at how well Alan performed in stunt scenes.

Alan Hale Sr (1892-1950) was 26 years older than Alan Hale Jr (1918-1990).
I know they never as adults ever worked together.
But were they ever up for the same part?
