Why is Jemima Kirke # 51?
Sometimes it all starts with an accent and an attitude. At least that’s certainly the case with Jemima Kirke, the British-born, New York City-raised actress who plays Jessa, the sexual extrovert on HBO’s much-talked-about series "Girls", so convincingly.
Before taking on that role, she appeared in Tiny Furniture, the indie flick that launched her and writer/director Lena Dunham’s careers. While her beauty is intoxicating, Jemima seems too cool to care whether or not we notice it.
And that’s why we love her. We may never have the confidence to approach her, but we’ll gladly tune into "Girls", which returns for a second season in January.
