Season 2 had some heavy episodes (Burn-Out, the Uh-Oh feeling, In the Family Way parts 1 & 2, and Webster Long, part II) that ended with a more somber version of the normal Webster ending theme song to signify that the episode was sad.

I'm just curious - do other seasons use the melancholy theme, or was this just season 2?

Good question. That instrumental played during the closing was like the bummer version. LOL.

Pretty much so since they were tinkering around with changing up the closing theme quite a bit during the 2nd season.
