CAJeannieFan57 12-12-2012, 12:01 AM Nope....they never did. tcr1701 12-13-2012, 10:48 PM This is interesting because mine doesn't have any shaking in that episode. I think the video of this episode is jittery on my DVD also. In addition to that, it looks like the episode might be edited. There's a scene that cuts quickly to Tony's office and Jeannie is there with him, looks like something was edited out there, I don't know for sure but it does look suspicious. The run time of the episode is 24:55, the average run time for season 3 episodes is 25:15. Judging by the run times of the DVD episodes, the color seasons have several episodes that run short and might be edited. The black and white season seems complete and uncut. In my opinion, Sony didn't do all that great a job with the DVD's of this series, the Bewitched DVD's turned out much better. There was a glitch on the S3 Bewitched set on the episode "Nobody But a Frog Knows How to Live" where there is a fade-out and also a zoom-in that weren't on the original print, so there must have been some damage there that Sony tried to fix for the DVD. 1960'sTVfan 12-16-2012, 01:08 PM There was a glitch on the S3 Bewitched set on the episode "Nobody But a Frog Knows How to Live" where there is a fade-out and also a zoom-in that weren't on the original print, so there must have been some damage there that Sony tried to fix for the DVD. Season 3 of Bewitched does have a few minor glitches, also season 5 could have turned out better. The other seasons seem pretty close to perfect for the most part. While I think Sony could have done better with the Jeannie DVD's, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and figure they did the best they could. Jeannie was really popular in syndication in the 1970's, the episodes were ran constantly, so I guess it's possible that over the years the Jeannie episodes have gone through more wear and tear than the Bewitched episodes. Some edits in the Jeannie DVD episodes might have to do with music rights. Kasey 12-18-2012, 03:55 PM Season 3 of Bewitched does have a few minor glitches, also season 5 could have turned out better. I have only watched my S1 and S5 Jeannie DVDs but I noticed that there is a small "skip" during the opening theme music on every episode on the S5 set that is very annoying. 1960'sTVfan 12-18-2012, 05:06 PM I have only watched my S1 and S5 Jeannie DVDs but I noticed that there is a small "skip" during the opening theme music on every episode on the S5 set that is very annoying. For the color seasons of I Dream Of Jeannie, seasons 2 thru 5 DVD, Sony probably used the same opening credit sequence for all the episodes because as you said, there's that little skip in the music that is present. There are a few episodes that don't have this problem and there is no skip in the music, but there aren't many of them, most of the opening credit sequences contain the skip. bliss 12-24-2012, 11:43 PM This is interesting because mine doesn't have any shaking in that episode. Maybe it was only on some discs?? I just bought mine recently and it's very jittery. It's watchable but an annoyance  bliss 12-24-2012, 11:44 PM Nope....they never did. That figures. Gee thanks Sony for the lack of quality control before you shipped them out to the public. bliss 12-24-2012, 11:46 PM There was a glitch on the S3 Bewitched set on the episode "Nobody But a Frog Knows How to Live" where there is a fade-out and also a zoom-in that weren't on the original print, so there must have been some damage there that Sony tried to fix for the DVD. I remember that episode with the awkward fadeout. I thought something was wrong with my DVD but it turned out from an Amazon review that it was in ALL the DVDs. bliss 12-24-2012, 11:49 PM Season 3 of Bewitched does have a few minor glitches, also season 5 could have turned out better. Some episodes looked washed out and/or pink tinted. It's like the studio just didn't bother imo. And I do notice some edits on the Jeannie DVDs as well. 2 huge cult-like shows were not treated well for DVD release. bliss 12-24-2012, 11:54 PM I think the video of this episode is jittery on my DVD also. I can live with the edits I guess but that jittery episode of Bootsie was really too noticeable for viewers. I'm really surprised Sony didn't check on this before releasing it. I liked seeing the actress as Bootsie in this ep she was funny. Jeannie or the tiger seemed edited to me too. I noticed it when Roger came back to Tony's house with reddish prints all over his dress shirt after being stuck in the snow? |
