I'm just starting to watch this show between Encore Western, TV Land and Me TV, and I have to say it would be difficult at best for a movie or revival to happen for the obvious reason that nobody could replace James Arness as Matt Dillon.

ryan Reynolds and brad pitt were reportedly in the process of making a gunsmoke movie . but there hasn't been much about it


if they ever do a movie this would be my cast

Marshall Dillon - Mathew Mcconaughey

Festus -????

Newly - Patrick Wilson

Doc - Sam Elliot

Mrs. Kitty - Julianne Moore

obviously festus & mrs kitty would be the hardest to cast
