"Malibu Country" Gets 5 More Episodes at ABC

TGIF lives.

"Malibu Country" will be sticking around on ABC, though not for the traditional full 22 episodes. The network announced late Wednesday that the half-hour comedy has received an additional five episode order bringing it to an 18-episode season.



Reba McEntire's latest TV vehicle opened at 8:30 to a very solid 2.3 in the demo.

It is averaging a 2.2 rating with 18-49-ers in Live+7.



This marks the network's attempt to reintegrate scripted comedy on Friday night -- typically reserved for reality, newsmagazines and dramas -- after scrapping the most recent incarnation of its TGIF comedy block in 2005.

Good to hear. Although it isn't a top 20 hit it's doing better than how ABC shows tend to do on Fridays.

Yesterday's show was the 15th episode. Has anything been said yet about the show being on for a full season?
