Hmmmm...to me, comparing these two shows is like comparing apples and oranges. One was a light, fluffy, fantasy sitcom and the other was a soap opera with plenty of adult themes.

However, Larry Hagman was quite adept at playing both the romantic hero and the amoral villain - a testament as to how talented and versatile and actor he really was. I just think it's a shame he never won an Emmy (though I do think he received a Golden Globe or more).

I've never seen Dallas, but I've loved I Dream of Jeannie since I was 8 years old when I saw it for the first time on Nick at Nite. So, that's what I voted for. :)

I voted for "Jeannie" since I watched a lot more of it than Dallas. Butr as Monika pointed out Larry was able to play both roles well!

I'm not surprised IDOJ is winning because this is a sitcom site. I'd probably put IDOJ in my top five favorite sitcoms from the 1960's.

I liked Jeannie better, i dont think i've ever watched a full episode of Dallas.

I've probably seen less than 5 episodes of IDoJ in their entirety and almost all of Dallas.

The only episode of Dallas I ever watched was the one where we found out Christine shot JR.

I was one of 80,000,000 "Innocent Bystanders".

I Dream of Jeannie

I never watched Dallas much, like someone lese said earlier, I may in fact never have watched an entire episode, so for me Larry Hagman always brings "Major Nelson" ot my mind, not "J R Ewing". Part of this in my case may be because even though I was only 3 years old when the 60's ended, I have always been fascinated with that decade and my favorite tv shows are predominantly from the 60's.

Dallas and it's not even close! Dallas is the most watched TV drama of all time while Jeannie ain't Jack!

I don't really care about Dallas, though I do know it's an iconic role for Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing and certainly one he had for much longer......but I do love "I Dream of Jeannie" and grew up watching that- and I like Larry Hagman better as Major Tony Nelson- so I'd probably go with that show for myself. But there are tons of fans out there who I'm sure like both and that's okay too.
