Just my opinion, but I think Garrett is actually a downgrade over Wade Phillips.

Phillips had a lot of coaching experience, and you can say he has a better sense of timeouts and game/clock management.

I don't really think he is. He's an awful clock manager and the same penalties and turnovers that happened during Wade's regime still happen now. The Cowboys still find ways to beat themselves. I know they've won 2 games in a row and they might be able to get to four but that has more to do with the teams they are playing. Sadly I think if we get to 7 or 8 wins Garrett will be there for another year.

I hate the idea that a certain game saves a coach's job or ends it.

But

Garrett has done a less than stellar job.

The Cowboys now look like a team who seem to have to "figure out a way to win" instead of just going out there and winning.
As a fan i have to convince myself we can beat the Redskins? What the F?
The team has so much talent that i SHOULD be saying to myself we can overcome whatever to beat the Redskins. What we have trumps what is going for them.Man I hope so.

It's almost like the Cowboys players have to convince themselves too.
Not a good sign.

They need an ass beater mentality.
They dont have it.
They need a new coach.

The worst part is that a win doesn't even mean they won't f-up the position they put themselves in.

How Jerry Jones cannot see that a real coach would establish a mentality of confidence is beyond me.

I strongly believe they only make the playoffs if this happens

Skins.....win

Eagles........win

Bengals........win

They would be 8-5 with 3 games left

That's the only way we get in the playoffs

At least one of these will be a loss.

The part that kills me - and which Jones should easily see- is that none of these should be. Not one.

I can see us beating Washington and Philly and then losing to Cincinnati, , N.O. and Pittsburgh. It's what happens every year. December is coming.

Well it's usually tough for a NFC East team to win in Cincy so if they could win the next two to go to 7-5 and lose to Cincy to fall to 7-6, then they would have to run the table to make the playoffs which would be tough

Steelers

Saints

Skins

I would accept a Saints loss with no problem if they can beat Cincy and the Steelers lol
