"The Sopranos" star Tony Sirico has been tapped for a recurring role on the Fox animated series "Family Guy". He will voice Vinnie the Dog, a pooch with attitude and possible criminal ties that the Griffins buy from a pet shop.

I hear Sirico also sings the theme song for next season with "Family Guy" creator/lead actor Seth MacFarlane and the rest of the series’ voice cast.

I would love to see him interact with Brian and how he reacts to Brians' lifestyle. Seeing Brian dating human women is a big example. I would love to see Vinnie try to get Brian back to dogs.

Vinny Returns in "Family Guy" Season 15

One of "Family Guy‘s" most polarizing characters is coming back to Quahog later this month.

Vinny the Dog, voiced by "The Sopranos" star Tony Sirico, is making a cameo in the Fox comedy’s Season 15 premiere, TVLine has learned exclusively.



“It’s a very welcome cameo,” executive producer Richard Appel tells TVLine. “We really loved Vinny, largely because Tony Sirico is so funny and such a good guy.”

"Family Guy" returns Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9/8c.
