Out of curiosity, do you stutter? I don't mean stuttering every once in awhile but stuttering all the time . . . everyday, almost or all conversations you have. Are you a stutterer?

Montana Ponine 02-05-2002, 11:15 PM Hmm...not really.. sometimes. not a whole lot but i do stutter occasionally. :) DJM77 02-05-2002, 11:20 PM I hardly ever stutter. dawsongirl 02-05-2002, 11:31 PM No. Chocoholic 02-06-2002, 01:04 AM I do have a speech impediment, but I don't really stutter. I have a problem saying certain letters correctly. moofomoo 02-06-2002, 01:35 AM w-w-w-w-w-well...when I have no clue what I'm supposed to say, I might stagger once in a while in my speech, but not really STUTTER. I don't have a lisp either, or a problem saying certain letters or whatnot. I have a different sort of speech impediment. If I hear an accent, I copy it. I have a problem with that, but hey, no one's perfect right? :D I had to go to a speech therapist to get rid of my original accent for a year and a half before I sounded normal. To this day, if I get near a person with the accent combination I had strived to get rid of, I slip again. **moo...ever seen a moo with a varied accent? Parisienne moos say "Le MOO" you know** angel676 02-06-2002, 03:07 AM Yes, I stutter. I've had a speech impediment ever since I was 4 years old. I am now 24, going on 25 in June. Hollow 02-06-2002, 11:25 AM Nope. wren 02-06-2002, 03:03 PM No. Mijada 02-06-2002, 04:48 PM I don't anymore, but I did when I was little and was teased endlessly about it. Fortunately I had a very good speech therapist who helped correct the problem. angel676 02-06-2002, 04:56 PM Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what causes or brings on a speech impedient? I'm sure nobody can answer that, I was just wondering! Cara Oatmeal 02-06-2002, 05:42 PM I dont stutter but this kid I smoke weed with duz because his brother always punched him in the face when he was lil or somethin like att but i cant say like m "r" good i say bird insteada board and i say word insteada world Mossopp 02-06-2002, 06:10 PM I don't have any speech impediments. I dunno about stuttering - that could get annoying - but I actually find lisps kinda sexy. I don't mean the really bad 'spit-all-over-everything' sort of lisp. But really slight lisps - that's really cute!!! :D Chocoholic 02-06-2002, 06:11 PM Originally posted by angel676 Just out of curiousity, does anyone know what causes or brings on a speech impedient? I'm sure nobody can answer that, I was just wondering! There are different things that can bring on a speech impediment. In my case, I was born with hearing problems, which weren't diagnosed until I was about 9 or 10. Because I couldn't hear properly, I couldn't learn to speak properly. FOLrocks1 02-06-2002, 08:02 PM I don't. LOL: When ever i say lisp I say it with a lisp! (even though i don't have one! LOL!:happyface Kay Scarpetta 02-06-2002, 08:26 PM I don't... but I've gotten made fun of the way I've talked before :smash: JDS84 02-06-2002, 08:46 PM Nope :) ILuvJoandBlair 02-06-2002, 08:48 PM Nope. I never have "any" problems with my speech. Sorry, had to add that! LucyFan 02-08-2002, 03:40 AM Angel676, out of curiosity have you tried anything to correct your speech problem? If so, what have you tried? angel676 02-08-2002, 03:55 AM Originally posted by LucyFan Angel676, out of curiosity have you tried anything to correct your speech problem? If so, what have you tried? I've been to "tons" of speech therapists and they all did basically the samething with me. At one time, my speech was a whole alot worse then it is now. I've only gone to speech therapy, nothing else. Nothing else seems to work!!!!!!!! Chocoholic 02-08-2002, 03:54 PM I have also tried sppech therapy and it didn't work for me either. |
