You Only Live Once
Kristen 11-18-2012, 02:19 AM What does YOLO mean?
YOLO stands for You Only Live Once.
A girl I work with says it a lot, and I think it's stupid.

I found this quote:
"I'm fairly certain YOLO is just Carpe Diem for stupid people."
~Jack Black
I use it on occasion in a post or a caption. It's just a fun phrase.
I have to add:
"Cray Cray" to the list. This one really bothers me!!
TVFactFan 11-18-2012, 02:23 AM I have a facebook friend who does something in her newsfeed I think is cool. Whatever the status is about she ends it with a dot.com based on how she is feeling.
So for example I can see her saying this on Thanksgiving
"I have eaten so much food and pie today, stuffed.com"

I started doing all the time.
I recently had a facebook status that said
"It is so cold out here today, glad I have on my coat. "frozen.com"
PrettyinPink55 11-18-2012, 02:35 AM I pick up on things and phrases other people say very quickly. That's why I'm so guilty of using most of those phrases on facebook!!
dakert 11-18-2012, 03:32 AM Sometimes it pays to be old. I miss out on all this nonsense.

It's another stupid phrase that lots of people say when they don't want to talk to someone anymore
"GOOD NIGHT"
LOL, doesn't matter if it's 1pm in the afternoon.
1, 2 and 3 have been around forever. They predate Facebook and probably the Internet itself.
gilligan fanatic 11-18-2012, 02:51 PM The hastag is stupid on facebook. On twitter it is fine because it links things but on facebook it just looks dumb

Agreed. I guarantee you that more than 90% of the people who use hashtags on Facebook don't understand what they're for.
RoryGilmore 11-27-2012, 03:36 PM For those that dont know here is my interpretation of the ones that have noy been explained:
smh=smack my head
facepalm- fail.
cray cray *cringe* simply means crazy.
I hate all of them and i am a Facebook user in my early 20s
I swear they all came from stupid preteens that are to lazy to type actual words and thinks abbreviations are cool. The only abbrevations I am guilty of using are lol and jk that's because the were around when I was a preteen.
As for YOLO it seriously is Carpe Diem for stupid people, well put Jack Black!
Family Ties Forever! 07-06-2015, 03:46 AM I was wondering what > : ( [I put spaces between them on purpose] mean? Greater than sign, colon, open parenthesis.
I saw it on FB, but I'm not sure what it means. I guess people who text a lot and/or post a lot on FB would know.
