I was pretty disappointed when I read that The Rolling Stones would be celebrating their 50th anniversary not with a new album but another greatest collection. However, Grrr: Greatest Hits 1964-2012 is an excellent collection. On two discs you can have many of then band's most famous songs like "Satisfaction", "Get Off My Cloud", "Paint It Black", "Jumpin Jack Flash", "Gimme Shelter", 'Brown Suger" and "Start Me Up" to lesser known classics like "Undercover of the Night", "Harlem Shuffle" ane the underrated "Anybody Seen My Baby". The new songs are even pretty good.

As much as I like the Stones, they really dont need another greatest hits collection.

Agreed, my biggest gripe about Grrr is that my favorite Stones' song, "Mother's Little Helper" isn't on it and it's one you very rarely ever hear on classic rock stations. One of our local stations plays "Angie" and "Brown Sugar" to death and I've despised both since the first day I heard them and of course both were included on Grrr.

"Brown Suger" is my favorite Stones song. I can understand why you might not like "Angie" though. I like it but i can understand why someone wouldn't. "Mother's Little Helper" is good. Its not Keith's greatest playing but the lyric is classic!

I also think "Tell Me (You're Coming Back)" is miles better than Angie and Brown Sugar.

And how about their version of The Beatles' "I Wanna Be Your Man"? How come that's not on this collection?

Where's "Shattered"?! At least "Forty Licks" included it...

I'm glad that it has this Beatles knock-off "She's a Rainbow"...

But...I may pass this album...and why is it on Disc 2 #8? It should be Track 1!

Exactly! "Hang Fire" & "She's So Cold" are also missing.

I made my own Stones compilations (http://sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?p=1705545#post1705545) several years ago. Although there are a few things I'd change today (mostly with the second set), I'm still happy with the results.

Maybe someday, I'll tackle 1981-present.

In my collection I got all of the Stones 60's LPs, all their 70's Lp and a few of the 80's records, so I so dont need to get Grrrr

I don't like Mixed Emotions from Steel Wheels. I would rather have Rock and Hard Place or Almost Hear You Sigh. I bought 40 Licks so I'm out of the market anyway.

I have all the 2002 ABKCO SACDs, all the 1994(?) Virgin CDs through Tattoo You, and the 2002 40 Licks compilation, but I still have a soft spot in my heart for compilations.

Apparently, there's a "Deluxe" 4 CD edition that has "Shattered" on it. "Hang Fire" is, IMO, the Stones' most underrated song. Hardly no radio airplay, and it's never shown up on any compilations.

Good point, Imo "Start Me Up" is their most overrated song and it gets played to death around here, probably more than any other Stones song.
