Btw, what is the name of the software you would need to do this?

You don't need any software. It's just a button you push on your computer. Put your DVD in the computer and when you have it on your screen, on your keyboard you just push the cap button. If you have a PC, there should be a button that says PrtSc (print screen) in the upper right hand area of the keyboard. That'll capture the entire screen. You can crop out the excess stuff by pasting it into a program like Microsoft Paint. If you have a Mac, push command+shift+4 to select the area you want to cap, or you can just push command+shift+3 to cap the whole screen.
A note, though, if you have a Mac...in order to prevent people from capping (apparently it's a problem? I don't see why...) the default player when you put in your DVD won't allow you do capture any image from it. It'll just show up as a black square. In order to bypass this (with the glory of internet, you can bypass pretty much anything) you can download a media player like VLC and it'll work just fine.
Haha sounds way more complicated than it is but...really, it's just a button.

Hey cool. I used to have to burn the dvd and then use a program like Power DVD. This is much easier. Thanks.
