"Jersey Shore's" Vinny Gets MTV Talk Show

Vinny Guadagnino is replacing the "tan" in "GTL" with "talk show."

The "Jersey Shore" star is getting his own talk show/reality series on MTV, the network announced Tuesday.



Titled "The Show with Vinny", the series will put a twist on the talk show format by having Guadagnino interview his guests at his Staten Island home. Celebrities will enjoy a tasty Italian meal while his mother Paula, wild Uncle Nino and others add to the unorthodox format.

"Vinny's unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre busting take on the interview format," Chris Linn, MTV executive vice president of programming and head of production, said in a statement. "As the lives of the Jersey Shore cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise."

"Jersey Shore" might be ending, but that doesn't mean we won't be seeing our favorite beach buds again.

Vinny Guadagnino is returning to MTV with a new spin-off series called "The Show With Vinny," which will give fans a glimpse into his personal life.

"It’s probably the biggest thing that’s happened in my life. I'm really excited because there's another side of my personality that likes to act and do improv and host and to be able to get your own show, doing what you want to do is an amazing feeling," Guadagnino told HuffPost TV at MTV's Restore the Shore event on Nov. 15.





Although many are considering it a talk show, the "Jersey Shore" star reveals, "My show doesn't know what it is!"

"Picture a reality show that sleeps with a TV show and has a baby and that’s what it is," Guadagnino joked. "I knew it was going to be a talk show, but im not the type to be in a studio with a suit and tie. We wanted to use what I had, which was my family and my house because that’s what everyone at home always loved. It's not hiding anything," he continued.

"My mom cooks for the crew and for the celebrities!"





Speaking of celebrities, Guadagnino revealed his first episode is star-studded. (Still, he wouldn't tell us who will be gracing his couch).

"We got the biggest names in the world for the first episode," he gushed. "I can't tell you who, but somebody really really big."



And although Guadagnino is a celebrity in his own right, he admitted he's nervous about meeting Hollywood's stars.

"At first I was nervous, but then I realized this is unlike any TV show any of them have ever been on," he explained to HuffPost TV. "The celebrity walks in and turns into a little kid again because they’re literally in my house. They're humbled and they're down to earth and all the celebrity things go out the window," he added.

"You get to see these people like you’ve never seen them before."

TVLine has learned exclusively that "The Show with Vinny" will launch Thursday, May 2 at 10/9c, leading into the premiere of the cabler’s new scripted comedy "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous" at 10:30 pm.

As previously reported, Vinny offers up a new twist on the traditional talk show, taking big-name celebs out of the studio and into the fan fave’s Staten Island family home.
