That's the question, since all of them now are over 50. How many of them had children in the first place?

View Full Version : Are any of the "kids" grandparents now? Yong Fang 11-10-2012, 10:51 AM That's the question, since all of them now are over 50. How many of them had children in the first place? nancy77 11-10-2012, 11:28 PM Barry Williams has 1 child born in 2003 Christopher Knight has no kids Mike Lookinland has 2 sons born in 1990 and 1993 Maureen McCormick has a daughter born 1989 Eve Plumb has no kids Susan Olsen has 1 son born 1996 PrettyinPink55 11-10-2012, 11:52 PM For some reason I always thought Eve Plumb had kids. catlover79 11-11-2012, 02:21 AM Actually, Barry has two kids. His baby daughter was born earlier this year. To my knowledge, none of the "Brady Kids" are grandparents yet. nancy77 11-11-2012, 09:49 AM catlover79 i had forgot about that thanks for posting it catlover79 11-11-2012, 02:44 PM catlover79 i had forgot about that thanks for posting it No problem!!! sixfingers 11-11-2012, 10:07 PM For some reason I always thought Eve Plumb had kids. She has played a mother on several occasions. PrettyinPink55 11-12-2012, 12:14 AM She has played a mother on several occasions. Maybe that's why I thought that. She seemed motherly. TV_on_the_Porch 11-12-2012, 12:34 AM Mike Lookinland could certainly play a grandfather, sorry to say. The years have been far less kind to the youngest Brady boy than to his brothers. catlover79 11-12-2012, 01:40 AM Mike Lookinland could certainly play a grandfather, sorry to say. The years have been far less kind to the youngest Brady boy than to his brothers. He did have an alcohol problem years ago and was busted for DUI in 1997. I'm pretty sure he said he's been sober ever since, but alcohol can really age a person. catlover79 11-12-2012, 01:50 AM She has played a mother on several occasions. Yeah, she played the mother in the Fudge TV-series in the mid-90s, which was based on the Judy Blume series. It aired Saturday mornings on ABC. The grandmother was played by - you guessed it - Florence Henderson!!! Yong Fang 11-12-2012, 06:52 AM Barry Williams has 1 child born in 2003 Christopher Knight has no kids Mike Lookinland has 2 sons born in 1990 and 1993 Maureen McCormick has a daughter born 1989 Eve Plumb has no kids Susan Olsen has 1 son born 1996 Barry Williams( b.September 30, 1954) has been married twice, the first wife for two years and the second wife from 1999 to 2005. Barry is someone who loves what he is doing on the stage and probably should have been a bigger star instead of being typecast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Williams Christopher Knight (b. November 7, 1957) has been married three times, with none of the relationships lasting more than five years. His last wife he married in 2006 and by the next year, he and wife number three were on Dr. Phil's show about their failing relationship...which failed. Knight more or less quit show business outside the Bradys and became a businessman with computer software of some kind. More than likely now the wealthiest of the three boys probably of all the actors, although all of them have seemed to be living comfortable lives. Knight is the only Brady to be divorced three times. He may have not wanted children since he is active in an organization called Zero Population Growth and that maybe he did not want any children which may have caused friction with his spouses. Or not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Knight_(actor) Mike Lookinland (December 19, 1960) has been married to the same woman since 1987. He lives in Utah and is a member of the Mormons. However, in 1997, he was arrested for DUI, so he must be a "Jack Mormon". I thought he was a television cameraman for a local television station, but his Wiki bio does not mention that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Lookinland The three boys has had 6 wives, with Williams and Knight having 5 of the wives. Maureen McCormick (b.August 5, 1956) has surprisingly been married once to a man for 27 years. She has publically stated (I think she wrote a book) that she was off the rails for many years, doing coke, partying, and was going down a very Dana Plato way (and blowing an audition with Steven Speilberg for a role in Raiders of the Lost Ark, which would have possibly made her an A lister), but she turned it around. http://www.answers.com/topic/maureen-mccormick Eve Plumb (b.April 29, 1958) has been married twice and the first of the kids to marry and divorce. She has been married to her second husband for the past 15 years. To me, she seemed to be the most "serious actress' of the kids and the one who was the most active in breaking out of the Jan typecast into a professional career with some success. http://www.answers.com/topic/eve-plumb Susan Olsen (b. August 14, 1961) has been married twice, once in the late 80's and the second husband from 1995-2004. http://www.answers.com/topic/susan-olsen The three girls have had five husbands. So, the six actors who played the children have had 11 different spouses, but have only produced five children, with three of the children in their 20's. Only McCormick and Lookinland have only been married once, the other four have been through a divorce. Although McCormick went off the rails in her 20's and Lookinland had a DUI (that's serious, but once in a lifetime can be forgiven.), they all have seemed to have turned out just fine. The three boys are older than their respective three girls. (Barry Williams-Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb-Christopher Knight, Mike Lookinland-Susan Olsen). Williams is the oldest at 58 years old, and Olsen is the youngest at 51.) All of the Brady Bunch kids are older than President Barack Obama except for Olsen who was born in the same month 10 days later. Since I knew that they were all in their 50's, I thought that one of them might be grandparents by now. catlover79 11-12-2012, 01:24 PM Ironic that the six "kids" only have five children between them, because Flo Henderson and Bob Reed had five children between them!! Bob Reed has one daughter from an early marriage, and Flo has four kids from her first husband. Mike Lookinland now has his own custom countertop business in Salt Lake City and I think he gave up his life with the camera in order to do that. He's been involved in this line of work for the past few years. http://www.concreteconstruction.net/concrete-construction/paul-lundy-and-mike-lookinland.aspx IllinoisTVFan 11-12-2012, 05:10 PM I could be wrong, but I believe both Knight and Plumb stated they didn't want kids. As I recall Knight had (or was planning to have)a vasectomy. Interestingly Susan Olsen was on her honeymoon when a Very Brady Christmas was filmed and why apparently she didn't do the role. It's actually not that surprising though that none are grandparents yet because people are marrying and having kids later than years ago. PrettyinPink55 11-12-2012, 11:33 PM I LOVED "The Fudge" books by Judy Blume and remember watching the show as a kid on Saturday mornings!! I thought it was great!! I think Mike Lookinland was a cameraman for one of my favorite shows, "Everwood." I remember Christopher Knight in that horrible VH1 reality series where he got married to that model he met on "The Surreal Life," I think. catlover79 11-13-2012, 01:38 AM As I recall Knight had (or was planning to have)a vasectomy. I believe that's one of the main reasons why his third marriage (to "Top Model" Adrianne Curry) failed. She wanted kids, he didn't, and that was that. DJM77 11-13-2012, 11:33 AM I would think that Christopher would learn to talk to his significant others about the wanting/not wanting kids issue before tying the knot. IllinoisTVFan 11-13-2012, 02:55 PM That makes no sense to me either because when I get serious with men the kids issue always comes up. Obviously he's serious about not having kids so he needs to tell them. Unless of course he does but they think he'll change. gidgetgrape 11-13-2012, 07:05 PM Unless of course he does but they think he'll change. That's what I was thinking too. Also, marrying someone significantly younger causes problems because you are at different stages of life. PrettyinPink55 11-13-2012, 10:43 PM Unless of course he does but they think he'll change. Oh goodness!! I wonder just how many people go into relationships believing this. :( IllinoisTVFan 11-13-2012, 10:50 PM Many believe that they will change. Like Gidgetgrape mentioned they are at different stages of life being they were vastly different in ages. I know when I was in my early 20s I was serious about a guy who was 35 and told me he never wanted kids. I thought he would change but he is now in his mid 50's and still childless so nope he never changed. gidgetgrape 11-13-2012, 11:52 PM Once I read about a woman who got pregnant on purpose thinking that her fiancée, who didn't like children, would change. Nope! They didn't get married and she became what she didn't want to be, a single mother. The former fiancée supported his child financially, but made no effort to see or be apart of the child's life. Very sad, but it happens. IllinoisTVFan 11-14-2012, 12:02 AM Once I read about a woman who got pregnant on purpose thinking that her fiancée, who didn't like children, would change. Nope! They didn't get married and she became what she didn't want to be, a single mother. The former fiancée supported his child financially, but made no effort to see or be apart of the child's life. Very sad, but it happens. I've known several situations like this and it's very sad. That's why it is so important to listen to what someone is saying and take them at their word. Yes they might change but don't hold breath thinking it will happen because it probably will not. PrettyinPink55 11-15-2012, 02:11 AM That's why communication is key and to talk about what you want/expect from a relationship early on to avoid trouble in the future. jehobden 11-29-2012, 05:35 PM I LOVED "The Fudge" books by Judy Blume and remember watching the show as a kid on Saturday mornings!! I never saw Chris or his future wife on "The Surreal Life", but I did watch a few eps of their follow-up show, "My Fair Brady". She seemed like a terrible partner then. I am amazed that their marriage lasted as long as it did. gidgetgrape 11-29-2012, 07:17 PM I never saw Chris or his future wife on "The Surreal Life", but I did watch a few eps of their follow-up show, "My Fair Brady". It always seemed like Adrianne liked Chris a little more than he liked her. She was the one who pursued him and hung on his every word on "The Surreal Life." She suggested the idea for "My Fair Brady" on that show. I hope they both find the right person one day, if they haven't already. |
